Movie Reviews of Nicholas and AlexandraMovie Review: One of My Very Favorites Summary: 5 Stars
I was enthralled the very first time I saw this film. Jayston and Suzeman do a great job and for me and have BECOME Nicholas and Alexandra in my mind when I visualize them. European monarchs have always been of interest to me. So, when a coworker found a VHS copy of N&A at the local library, naturally I loved it. The DVD is great and uncut as well with an extra scene or two. One in particular is just after Alexei was born. Victoria & Albert by A&E/BBC is wonderful as well. I would pay $100 each for them when or if they are ever released on blu-ray.
Movie Review: This a great movie! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a huge Romanov fan, and found this to be the best movie about the Romanovs. It is in story form, nort biographical. The story of the last Romanovs is a very touching and interesting one. Experience the lives of Nicholas, Alexandra, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and the heir, Alexi through this movie. The only thing I did not like about this DVD was, correct me if I'm wrong, that there were no bonus features. However, overall this movie is historically accurate and just a great movie!
Movie Review: Start of Russian Revolution Summary: 5 Stars
This is a top rate produced movie. The story keeps moving along at a good pace and keeps the interest wondering what is going to happen next. I had read the book but not seen the movie. I want to read the book again to compare. It was a long movie but apparently it was special because I didn't fall asleep. I was in St. Petersburg this summer and went on a tour called "The Last of the Romanov's. We went in the last house Nicholas and Alexandra lived in before being exiled to Silberia.
Movie Review: History story telling at it's best Summary: 5 Stars
It takes the Brits to put out pictures of this type.It follows the book a lot closer than most, they tell it like it was.The sets are really lavish like you would expect in the winter palace. As usual the Brits bring out thier fine cast of supporting actors, you know this picture wasn't made on the cheap or corners cut.The adaption from the book is first class. If you are a history buff this is for you,you can't go wrong with this CD.
Movie Review: At Long Last Summary: 5 Stars
When i first saw this movie in 1971 I fell in love with it immediately. I then read the book. In 1983 I purchased a VHS edition which unfortunately had been cut by 24 minutes. Then in 1985 I visited Moscow. St Petersburg and Kiev. Now on DVD the movie has been restored to it's full theatrical widescreen version of 189 mins and how glorious it is to watch and listen to in dolby 5.1 surround.....A masterpiece
