Movie Review: The long journey
Summary: 5 Stars
This is an engrossing film that contributes much to the McQueen "cool" factor. It is a story of revenge, but on a very humanistic level. There are many unforgetable characters, playing both good and bad. It is a long and arduous journey for Max Sand...a young man with an intense focus. The pacing, realism, and ability to draw a viewer into this film makes it a journey for the viewer also. There is not a false note in many outstanding performances. Great location work. Ah, Steve McQueen is really missed. Watching one of his greatest movies, Nevada Smith, reminds one of just how under rated he was as an actor. The man oould convey a whole range of emotions with an expression, and had a charisma few of our current stars could ever hope to copy. Plus, watching him you realize how he was able to become the characters he played. Nevada Smith is a moving tale of violence, revenge, and redemption. Have been a fan of Steve McQueen for years and this movie did not disappoint me. Seen this movie years ago and seeing it again was great. There are some very good actors (Karl Malden, Brian Keith, Arthur Kennedy) that are in the movie. They are gone but their acting lives on. Good entertainment for the family.Movie Review: Nevada Smith

Actually based on a character and about a chapter or two in a Harold Robbins novel "The Carpetbaggers" Steve stole the whole character and made an entirely new movie with him. Very well done another timeless classic. Worth seeing if you haven't.
