Movie Review: Delightful surprise
Summary: 5 Stars
Having seen many of Naxos' "sight-seeing" DVDs, this Naxos Live is a delightful surprise in that you actually get to see marvelous artists playing their instruments. I was not familiar with any of the performers or their choice of music. Even the Liszt pieces are not readily available to see/hear on a DVD. The camera work is good and not distracting. The performers are supurb. The only caution is that many of these pieces are rather melancholy in feeling; however they are preformed artistically. If you love violin and piano, this is an opportunity to see artists you may not have heard before.
