Movie Reviews of Natural Born Killers

Movie Review: "Widescreen" my foot!
Summary: 1 Stars

Im reviewing the "widescreen" release of this movie and not the movie itself (which I give 5 stars).

Basically, this is a 4:3 version, shown in 4:3 with the top and bottom cut off. This is absolutely the dirtiest filthiest trick the studio could pull, and it really ticks me off to have paid money for this.

These studio's wonder why people pirate movies? Well this DVD release is one LOUD and CLEAR reason. I feel they just robbed me with their false advertising of this title - and I'll have to really think about whether I buy a movie from them again.

Sleazy studios. Someone should file a class action suit against them.

Movie Review: It used to disturb me
Summary: 5 Stars

The first time I saw this whole movie, I thought that maybe it was a bit too much; killing Mabel, the prison riot, and what have you. It left me feeling icky, wrong, dirty, etc.
The next time I watched it, it didn't gross me out as much. What's more, I began to notice other things about the film. I loved the superimposition, all of the weird camera work, Mallory's life as a sitcom, and the satire of serial killers.
It's been pointed out before, but this movie plays on the fact that our serial killers in America are, more or less, legitimate celebrities. And it's not all bad for them either. Law enforcement and very adult people denounce them, saying they're disgusting, monsters and whatnot. Kids, on the other hand, are intrigued, and sometimes think they're cool, in a manner of speaking.
Also, I liked the twisted love story of Mickey and Mallory. It was touching. Bloody, and vile, but touching.
Great movie, hands down. I wish I could give it 8 or 10 stars.

Movie Review: very real
Summary: 4 Stars

this film is very real because it shows how the media can make a killer a saint. this is one of the best films about killers i have seen because it shows what goes through there minds. and the prison riot is very realistic. im not sure if this is the directors cut but the directors cut shows more sences that got cut down. this is a very good film because it shows how the u.s loves killers

Movie Review: Fantastic
Summary: 5 Stars

The person who wrote the last review is an idiot. First of all, the movie is almost exactly 2 hours long.
It is strange though that this movie's theme points out things which other films have commented on. I can't recall any other time that happened. Every movie that comes out is completely original and touches no base on themes from other ones, or so I thought.
And I must say that "Oliver Stoned" is probably the most clever, uniquely brilliant, and HILARIOUS thing I've ever heard. It's right up there with Harry Pothead.
It is true that Harrelson and Lewis have completely vanished from the big screen though. Aside from Money Train, Kingpin, The People Vs Larry Flint, Welcome To Sarajevo, Wag The Dog, The Thin Red Line, EdTV, After The Sunset, North Country, The Basketball Diaries, Strange Days, From Dusk Til Dawn, The Other Sister, The Way Of The Gun, Hysterical Blindness, Old School, Cold Creek Manor, Chasing Freedom, a whole mess more, and some that are currently in production, you are correct. I mean, what are they doing now? It looks like they've given up on acting completely and gone into ice fishing or something.
The main "theme" of this review, as I've seen many other reviews have, is to mock a fool you shouldn't listen to. This has been my favorite movie for years, and probably will always be. Stone & Co. greatly improved on Tarantino's original script, the acting is tremendous, and Trent Reznor's choices for the soundtrack match perfectly with every scene. Also, as an editor, the editing work on this movie hasn't been matched by anything I've seen. If you haven't seen NBK, go into it looking for satire and sarcasm more than action. If you have and still don't get it, watch it again. Hell, come over and I'll watch it with you.
As for the last poster, I'm just upset that the actual serial killers and mass murderers Mickey and Mallory were based on didn't get to you before being caught.

Movie Review: This Movie Is A Bad Case Of "Overkill" (Literally!!!")
Summary: 5 Stars

In this movie director Oliver Stone takes 1 1/2 hours to point out to the viewer that mass murderers can become 'celebrities' via the Media. Gee. I didn't know that. Thanks for enlightening me Mr. Stone.Apart from the fact that this Theme is explored in the movie "Bonnie and Clyde" and a host of other films Mr. Stone has little else to say. Given his recent antics perhaps he should consider changing his name to "Oliver Stoned". I give this movie 5 stars because thankfully Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis have disppeared from our movie screens in recent years.
