Movie Reviews of Naruto, Vol. 1 - Enter Naruto

Movie Review: Naruto: Simplistic Perfection
Summary: 5 Stars

Uzumaki Naruto's adventure in the show named after him, is by far the greatest anime i have seen. I have seen all of the episodes to date, both movies and read the whole manga to date. This is by far the best anime i have seen.

At first i thought it was really dumb, then i watched a few episodes and was addicted to it.

A lot of people say this anime has it's faults on the fight scenes, that it's like Dragonball Z. Yes, the fights scenes are lengthened, but that is only complmented MUCH LESS (^^) by the whole "Charge up, scream, and show a big attack", yes, it does involve talking here and there, but the fun part is is that every fight is original and fun to watch, Naruto himself has a differant trump card EVERY fight which is very fun to watch.

The whole anime is unique and get's rid of the old "Ninja in the all black pajamas" idea. These Ninja are fierce!

Other reviews on this page say Naruto is like Harry Potter, which it really isn't...they differ greatly. (Aside from the 3 classmates deal) Uzumaki Naruto, one who seeks attention and respect; with his crush Haruto Sakura, a very intellegent Ninja who is crazy of their other partner, Sasuke. Uchiha Sasuke is the top rookie Ninja, he is cool, calm, presise, and over-all, very skilled in Ninja arts. (*Note, i put last names first in the traditional Japanese way)

To finish on the Harry Potter. This other reviewer also mentioned that Naruto was published a year AFTER Harry Potter, which is false. It was made before it. If you read the side-notes in the manga, between chapters, he made another manga almost exactly like Harry Potter called "Magic Mushroom" (i belive that was the title) and he threw it out, but he always wanted to finish it, but sence HP was published, he completely trashed the idea. Here are sites to prove the dates.

Anyways. I highly suggest this seris to an Otaku, it is very long, yes, but it never get's boring in my opinion, i have seen well over 60 Animes / Manga and this is by far my favorite.

(*Note: The Japanese version with English subtitles is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the English dubbed Version. so please, watch the Jap. version first, you will like it A LOT. The English dub is a turn-off in my opinion. the US makes it very kiddish, like the One Piece Dub)

This story is very unique, original and fun to watch, the storyline is provocative. The characters are memerable, and the Anime is perfection.

Masashi Kishimoto does not fail to give out the best anime on the market, this is also one of the Top 5 Anime's in Japan (last time i checked it was #1 or #2).

Well, enough out of me, Try this anime, and watch the orignaal version and you will not be disappointed!

(^^) Ka-kawaii Dattebayo!

*Note: Dattebayo is a catchphrase in the Jap. version of Naruto which the character, Uzumaki Naruto uses frequently, it does not translate to anything, becasue it is simply used as an exclaimation. (think of it as the exclaimation mark on a sentence). Naruto is a very loud and fun-loving character.

I hope you have read this far to my review and are thinking of buying it, it is worth every cent in my opinion! (^^)

Summary of Naruto, Vol. 1 - Enter Naruto

Studio: Viz Media Llc Release Date: 03/28/2006
Audiences can't seem to get enough of ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki: the broadcast series based on Masashi Kishimoto's 31-volume manga debuted in 2002--and ran for more than 175 episodes, plus two features and three OVAs. Twelve years before the story begins, a nine-tailed fox demon attacked the ninja settlement of Konoha, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The Hokage (the most powerful ninja) imprisoned the fox-spirit in a new-born baby: Naruto. He grew up as an orphan and outcast, dreaming of becoming an Hokage. After finally graduating from the Academy, Naruto begins his training in earnest, but he has little to offer besides boundless energy. A cocky prankster who resists all forms of discipline, Naruto nurtures a crush on Sakura Haruno, although what he sees in this snotty girl isn't readily apparent. On the first day of training, he acquires a rival, the icy, talented Sosuke Uchiha. The initial episodes feel padded, with lots of flashbacks, but the filmmakers offer enough slapstick action to keep the fans coming back for more. (Unrated, suitable for ages 10 and older: violence, tobacco use, minor risqué and toilet humor) --Charles Solomon
