Movie Reviews of NOVA - The Miracle of Life

Movie Review: Make sure this is the info you're looking for!
Summary: 4 Stars

Video was very well done, however much of the focus was on the act of conception. I was expecting more on the development of the fetus, which felt crammed into the last portion of the video. However, it was a good way to get my non-reading husband a little more interested in the entire process (aside from making the baby, that is).

Movie Review: the Miracle of Life
Summary: 4 Stars

Except for the fact that the voice of David Ogden Styers does not appear anywhere on this CD, I was thrilled with it....Beautiful, miraculous photography. It jumps a bit too fast from pregnancy to birth...maybe another whole video on just the birth process, but what it covers in fertilization and development of the fetus is splendid.

Movie Review: informative in a narrow scope
Summary: 4 Stars

This video dealt mostly with the process of conception, with only the last 5 minutes showing the fetal development over the nine months to birth. It was very in depth, showing actual photos and video of cell-level processes you never thought you would see on video, but for the non-science class oriented, it could be a bit dry.

Movie Review: Great video!
Summary: 4 Stars

Though it is a little dated and brings back horrors from high school biology, this video is excellent! The actual images are breathtaking. Compared to other conception, pregnancy, and childbirth videos, The Miracle of Life offers a more thorough look of what happens at the point of conception. Worth the money!

Movie Review: Still an awesome educational journey
Summary: 4 Stars

I saw this 15 years ago in my biology class and now that I'm 6 months pregnant, I was curious to see it again. Absolutely fascinating and rich in detail. I do wish they'd spent more time showing the fetus at the various ages--it stops at 18 weeks--but overall a highly educational and captivating journey.
