Movie Review: If you love a love story ...
Summary: 5 Stars
If you are a G&G fan and you haven't seen this, it is a must see. If you have never heard of Gordeeva & Grinkov - watch it and you will fall in love with them. Based on Katia Gordeeva's book about her life with her late husband (also a must-read) it features extensive footage of the couple and interviews with Katia and only a few hyper-cheesy "flash back" re-enactments. It is more a docu-drama than a movie. Now, almost 10 years after Sergei's death, with Katia remarried and expanding her family, it is still a beautiful movie to watch and enjoy. And if you have never experienced G&G you are missing the greatest pair ever to take the ice. This movie is a good way to "get to know" them.Movie Review: Russian Love Story on Ice

The first time I saw G&G and their amazing synchronicity on ice was at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Gordeeva was only 16, Grinkov only 22, but their talent was tremendous. They hadn't paired up romantically yet but it was obvious they were a duo to be reckoned with. By the 1994 Winter Olympics in Norway they had married and had a daughter and won Gold again. Sadly, just a year later Grinkov died suddenly and left a widow of 24 alone with a toddler. Their love story is heartwarming and probably one of the most enduring real life tales in figure skating history. This video is a testament to twin flames on ice and off. If you are a G&G fan, or just a figure skating fan, you will absoutely LOVE this movie. My Sergei: A Love Story has become one of my favourite movies of all time, and I feel so lucky to have purchased it. The documentary includes pictures, interviews with skaters, and clips of G&G's amateur and professional programs. This is definitely a 5 star film!Movie Review: Long time Idol

See this movie and read the book too. Katia and Sergei are the world's most remembered fairy tale couple. This DVD shows their lives together and teaches you more about the 1994 Olympic gold medalists. See it, a touching story like this is better than Titanic.
