Movie Reviews of My Father's GloryMovie Review: The finest film ever made Summary: 5 Stars
Perfection. That's it. Flawless in every production value, every sound, every image, every word, every expression. There is no other film to my knowledge to equal it. Captivating and timeless, it never disappoints.
Movie Review: Excellent cinema. A slice of life. Good rendering of Pagnol. Summary: 5 Stars
I personally really enjoyed the film. I love Provence, and have read some Marcel Pagnol books, and this rendering is very good. The accent, the actors. Wonderful experience.
Movie Review: Enjoyable follow-on to My Father's Glory. Summary: 5 Stars
A glimpse in time to a southern French family's country get-aways and heartwarming reflections on childhood perspectives. A lovely movie...
Movie Review: Classroom Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this DVD because it's one of the only ones I've found with both English and French audio and subtitles. Great DVD! Classique!
Movie Review: Charming Memoir of Provencial France Summary: 4 Stars
This is a slow paced look at a boy coming of age in provencial France. I enjoyed the immersion in a different time, place and culture. If you are looking for action, look elsewhere but if you like intimate character studies, being transported to another time and place and beautiful scenery you may enjoy this film. If you like it you will like the sequel: My Mother's Castle.
