Movie Reviews of My Father's GloryMovie Review: my all-time favorite story of childhood - Summary: 5 Stars
this isn't sappy or childish in any way - and it is profoundly affecting in how it shows life as it should be, and very easily Could Be. for those of us who did not have a precious and protected childhood, this is a chance to see what that might be like. this was very renewing for me to watch, at a time where life had lost its sweetness for me. i can't imagine anyone who would not love the time spent seeing this movie, again and again. this would make a great baby gift or holiday present for a young family -
Movie Review: A film to see again and again Summary: 5 Stars
I fell in love with this movie and its sequel "My Mother's Castle." The setting in southern France is beguiling in itself, and the gentle story of the friendship of the two boys, the longing of the son to see his father "measure up", the relationships of the sisters and their husbands are all reasons to enjoy this film numerous times. I use this film with my French I students. As the film is in French with French subtitles, it is easier for them to follow than most French films.

Movie Review: Loved this movie Summary: 5 Stars
I can't be the only one who loves to escape into French period movies...bought this
"My Mother's Castle" as they are a set and have really enjoyed watching them over
again with a glass of wine, Port Salut cheese, crusty French bread and a little dry salami...don't ask me why perhaps on a rainy day it takes me to sunny Provence.
Movie Review: Great! but might not be for all families Summary: 5 Stars
Full frontal nudity of boys; a little breast; one "a-hole". A lot of religious/Catholic issues. A great movie that lauds family life; also explores the ramifications of lying. Great also for adults who like an intelligent, old-fashioned, happy movie.
