Movie Reviews of My Darling ClementineMovie Review: Beautiful cinematography, partly fictionalized history Summary: 4 Stars
Of all the actors playing Wyatt Earp, Henry Fonda has impressed me the most. He's strong, law abiding and the kind of 'sheepdog' the wild folks flocking to Western towns needed.
"Clementine" is beautifully filmed in black and white. Many of the vignettes are haunting and several of the scenes have had 'homage' paid to them by later directors.
All in all, very worthwhile to watch as long as you take most of this film as a work of fiction.
Movie Review: Original Summary: 4 Stars
I love this movie. It is my favorite western and I think John Ford's best western. It definitely shows why Henry Fonda is one of the greatest of all American actors. My only complaint is this copy is not the copy that was eventually released as the finished product. Close but not quite. I think it should be advertised as such.
Movie Review: My Darling Clementine Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great western full of detail and old west charisma. A bit hoaky but lots of old fashion values. Is that what helped make our country strong? For example, Fonda does not even kiss the girl he falls in love with but its evident how they feel about each other. A true classic.
Movie Review: Need I say more? Summary: 4 Stars
Hey, this was Col. Potter's favorite Western, and seeing parts of this on the "Movie Tonight" episode of "M*A*S*H" caught my interest...indeed one of the great Westerns out there. Microwave up some popcorn and prepare for some entertainment!
Movie Review: Great old classic Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great old classic movie. While it does lack some continuity in places, it has a lot of great scenes. The included documentary about the making of the movies was also very interesting. Well worth buying!
