I have been watching this movie over and over on VHS. This movie is a historical piece that people can really get into and really feel for the people involved. Dench and Connoly are amazing. Billy Connelly is charismatic and every bit of his performance is absolutely breathtaking. Although Judi Dench looks a little older than Queen Victoria was at the time this takes place she did an excellent job of portraying the Queen.
Billy Connolly was also excellent in his role as John Brown.
This movie should have won the Oscar.
