Movie Reviews of Mississippi Burning

Movie Review: Mississippi Burning
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent Film! Based on a true story about racism in the south during the 60's. It is sad to believe that people actually acted that way in the past. The film portrays the extremely difficult challenges blacks had living in parts of the south in the 60's. Excellent acting, great sound on the home theater. I had seen this on TV. Then after reading an article in US News and Workd Report, I decided I wanted this film in my collection.

Movie Review: Poignant and Brilliant Docudrama
Summary: 5 Stars

I have loved this film for a long time, and have watched it repeatedly. It provides a valuable lesson on the civil rights era which I have shown to students who have no idea of what the 60s were like when the civil rights wars were being fought. The cast is excellent, and this film remains a poignantly dignified tribute to those who died fighting to put an end to primitive and savage racism.

Movie Review: Outstanding Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent depiction of race problems in the south during the 1960s. Gene Hackman and William Dafoe would, at first, seem an unlikely team, however, it is their different personalities, as well as their different approaches to the situation, that give the movie a human touch. The dialog is crisp and original, especially between Mr. Hackman and the townspeople.

Movie Review: If you are any easily offended American stay away....
Summary: 5 Stars

Like the title states if you are easily offended by racism or you are a modern politically correct, easily offended, useless liberal stay away from this movie. It's better to leave defensive people ignorant. So if you dont know about racism, but you hate it. Buy a movie about Martin Luther King, Jr.

Movie Review: This Film Was Meant To Be Watched!
Summary: 5 Stars

Of all the films that have come out on the subject of racial problems, this film is at the top of my list. Maybe that's why I bought it on dvd. Hat's off to Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe on their performances in this great film. I highly recommend you get on dvd, if you haven't already!
