Movie Review: Mick Taylor Band plays the Blues in Tokyo !
Summary: 5 Stars
This a solid set from Mick Taylor, and band, taken from a concert in 2009. They play 'Secret Affair,' 'You Shook Me, 'Blind Willie McTell,' and the Rolling Sones' classic ' No Expectations,' among others. While not a raucous show, it is a very good sounding one. It is shot in HD, in a studio / concert venue, so the visuals are excellent, also. The band, with Max Middleton ,is always in the pocket / groove. Mick plays a Les Paul throughout most of the show, with slide guitar , and he has that great tone , and vibrato which set him apart from most guitarists. The extra, 'On the Road with Mick Taylor,'is really a nice little bio. Mick plays throughout, while narrating as he goes to a street fair, to a country estate, and a cottage. It's nice to see him playing with his dog, and also seeing him do an acoustic country blues number ,while relaxing at someone's home.
