Movie Reviews of Michael Jordan to the Max (Large Format)

Movie Review: Michael Jordon on the Imax screen and tv screen.
Summary: 5 Stars

Now I know this sounds odd, but this was rented on dvd. And it stills plays on Navy Pier. So maybe going to your favorite video store to buy or rent this on video or dvd. The movie focuses on Jordon's last season as a Chicago Bull. But there is mention of Michael's late father who was found dead in August of 93. After that Michael retired from basketball.

And close to his father's death, James Jordan (Michael Jordon's father) hinted to Michael of retiring from basketball and play baseball. Which Michael did. But Michael wasn't good at baseball and returned to the sport he was good at, that would be basketball in case you have just joined us. Michael Jordon spends the movie making shots after shots. He only misses twice in the film. The first playing on the road playing the Pacers. Which turns the battle goes to game 7. While that the Jazz has ten days rest and waiting to find out who they will play next the Bulls or the Pacers.

And it turns out the Bulls win game 7 even thought they are tired. The first game the Jazz win. They Bulls win the games up until after game 4. The first two are in Utah. Then they go to the United Center in Chicago for games 3, 4, 5. Which game 5 turns out to be Michael Jordon's last game at the United Center. The Utah Jazz win game 5 and now thier is game 6 inm Utah.

Summary of Michael Jordan to the Max (Large Format)

The action is on! Michael Jordan explodes on screen in this box office hit - "the most exciting live-action IMAX movie ever" (New York Post). Follow Michael Jordan's last basketball season as he leads the Chicago Bulls to their sixth NBA championship. Michael Jordan to the Max provides a rare glimpse of Michael Jordan on and off the court. Featuring electrifying on court action and candid interviews with Phil Jackson, Steve Kerr, Doug Collins and Bob Costas. Get ready to experience some of the greatest moments in modern sports history from one of the most dominant sport legends of all time.
The greatest basketball player of all time gets an appropriate clip reel in this 45-minute documentary, which was originally released in the IMAX format. While you can't simulate IMAX's 80-foot-high screen in your living room, you can still get the thrills and awe-inspiring footage of this tribute to one man's talent and endurance. Much of the original footage was shot during the 1997 NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz. With great behind-the-scenes footage and terrific game material, the film gets close to Jordan in practice and on the court. And the film includes a number of greatest hits, including his commercials and most memorable dunks. Still, while there are intriguing interviews with everyone from former Bulls coach Phil Jackson to professional Jordan hanger-on Bob Greene, this film seems a little self-serving at times (Jordan's company coproduced it). Also, some key voices from that team are conspicuously absent, including Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Ron Harper. In the end, however, it's all about the highlights--and Jordan's career (and his NBA finale) was one long one. --Marshall Fine
