Movie Review: GREAT MOVIE, WONDERFUL LOVE STORY!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
When I first saw the publicity that it was being given, I was very reluctant to watch it. It didn't spark any interest in me. One day I had to go in late and close at work so I was resting earlier on and had time to kill. (At least 3 hrs)So I decided to give it a chance. I was so moved by this movie! How could you not feel the magic between Pitt and Forlani when they walked away from each other at the coffee shop? This movie shows the awesome power of love and loss. Anthony Hopkins is wonderful as always, and he portrays a man that knows he has little time left in this world. And like most people, he wants to make things right before he goes. It will open your eyes to the amazing ability to love and sacrifice yourself for it. Death is portrayed wonderfully by Pitt. He is unfamiliar with how many things work in the world. Although he doesn't know it at first, he himself will succumb to the power of love.It is a must see, there have been few movies that take your heart and emotions on such a ride. If you have any belief in soul mates, destiny, or love...it will touch you!

Meet Joe Black teaches you what love and death are. What would it be like if DEATH took a holiday? This film shows you what could happen. Death falls in love while sparing a 64-year old CEO his life for a few days before his big 65th birthday. This film is an emotional roller coaster ride which keeps you hanging and wondering what will happen next. It is one of the few films that is like reading a great novel. Critics shunned this film when it was released as they did with Wizard of Oz when it was first released in 1939 and unforunately,Meet Joe Black was a box-office failure and did not get nominated for any academy awards. 1998's best picture was Shakespeare In Love which was good but not best picture worthy to me. If you like films similar to Harold and Maude or Gone With the Wind please dont count out this one. To me this film should have won best picture of 1998 and beaten Titanic with 13 awards. Brad Pit is charming. Claire Forlaine is gorgeous. Anthony Hopkins is outstanding. Rent or buy this film today. You or your friends will not be disappointed.Movie Review: Now one of my top five favorite movies.

Wow, what a surprise! I usually watch action movies such as Aramgeddon, Bad Boys, Strange Days, and Star Wars, so I had absolutely no interest in watching this film. My mom kept telling me how great it was, so when she said she had watched it three times in two weeks, I knew there had to be something to it. Let me tell you, I was hooked right from the beginning, and captivated until the very end.This movie makes you remember that it is the people you love that make life worthwhile. I thought about my deceased grandfather, and my former wife in particular. But it only made me recall all the good, happy times with them, and jsut kind of reminded me of what is important in life.
It's really hard to describe this film, and explain what it is that enamored me, but all I can say is JUST WATCH IT.
I think the reason this movie did poorly at the theater is because the trailer does not portray accurately what it is about. After watching the film, I watched the trailer on the DVD, and said, "That is not the movie I just watched."
Movie Review: MEET JOE BLACK - DYNAMITE.....

This film was out for awhile before I had the opportunity to see it. I immediately watched it a second time, knowing I had missed important dialogue, etc. and needed to go over it again. Brad Pitt is phenomenal in his dual role as perspective boyfriend and Death. The whole cast is perfect for their parts. What a wonderful yet heartbreaking yet uplifting yet lovable yet sad (and I could go on) film. Yes, this film completely engrosses you in so many feelings all at the same time that it is hard to explain just how it does make you feel. I do know you want Death to be a winner and what does that mean???? At the same time, you can't stand to think that the boyfriend may not get his chance at life and love if Death does win. I watch this film frequently and am never bored with it. I LOVE IT!!! I read some other reviews here that found no merit in this film whatsoever. I can't remotely relate to this particular type of opinion. Where has the romance gone for some people? Actually, they don't know what they are missing, do they?
Movie Review: they don't make 'em like this 5 Stars
this film is a top notch class act from it's opening frame till it's last! it has a sharp and clever screenplay, beautiful photography, a lovely score, and above all a magnificent peformance from anthony hopkins, as usual. brad pitt does probably his best work to date in this fine film. claire folani is lovely and a fine actress. the film is long, and maybe could have been told in a little less time, but the director had a lot of vision here, and what he gives us is a stunning, three dimensional and very well rounded film of rare beauty and so much class, i realized they don't make them like this anymore. pity! see it alone or with someone you love, curl up and be prepared to be swept along. the photography and colors are supreme as is the dolby digital transfer. a terrific film that will go tp the very top of the charts as word of mouth spreads about what a wonderful film it is. bravo to all, but especially to mr. hopkins-truly one of our greatest actors of all time; such a commanding presence. he, like the film, is awesome!
