In early 1977 Meat Loaf began an ambitious 18 month Seize the Night Tour in support of hios long awaited Bat Out Of Hell III album. Bruce David Klein was there to document the preparation for the show and to cover the first eight dates leading up to a DVD taping in Canada.
The film presents a rather interesting view of life on the road with a larger than life performer. The film walks its viewers through Meat Loaf's creative process as he fights controvery over the staging of one of his biggest hits, Paradise by the Dashboard Light. The staging was called creepy by members of the press because it featured Meat Loaf performing with Aspen Miller as waiflike singer some 31 years younger. The controversy put a spotlight on the difference between reality and art and the interpretation of art in modern society.
This is an intimate portrait of a performer as he gets ready to offer his latest material to the world. The HD video on the film is crisp and clear as is the soundtrack. While this film will do better with fans who know the material it is well worth a viewing. The disc is bare bones offering no special features.

The time is early 2007, one of the most stressful in Meat Loaf's career, when he is about to launch his most ambitious tour ever: an 18 month long marathon to support Bat Out Of Hell III, the final album of the legendary Bat Out Of Hell trilogy. His exhausting, and often poignant, journey takes him from rehearsals in Burbank, California through the first leg of his tour through Canada.
