Movie Review: Matilda
Summary: 5 Stars

Hi my name is Kamry Lawson have you ever seen Matilda I consider it to be one of my favorite movies of all time. It's about a little girl who used magic which we know me all want to use magic. The characters names are Matilda, Lavender, Miss Honey, and the mean Trunchbull. Matilda parents were the worse ever imagine your parents leaving you in the car when you were first born. By the time she was three she learned how to cooked pancakes everyday her parents, and brother would walk out, and leave her. When they left she would go to the library and sit in the corner, and read. At the age of seven she went to school. The only reason she got to go was because her dad made a plan with the Trunchbull. On her first day she met a girl named Lavender the two girls were in the same class, and evidently they became great friends. They were both in the same class Matilda favorite teacher was Miss Honey. If you where bad the Trunchbull would put you in the chokey it had holes and nails in the inside of the door. She would lock you in there for hours and leave. Matilda' parents was moving, but she got adopted by Miss Honey the two girls were happy living together.

Movie Review: Highly enjoyable
Summary: 5 Stars

So many movies just suck compared to the books they were derived from, but this movie hardly fails to please. I read the book many years ago and when the movie was announced, I was surprised and curious. I am glad to say that I was not at all disappointed. This movie isn't EXACTLY like the book, but I really can't complain. The book was wonderful, and so is this movie, and I rate it 4.5/5 stars. The only thing that really bothers me is the cover of this DVD. It's a rather poor cover, and doesn't capture the essence of the movie.

There's plenty of humorous moments here. Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman do FANTASTIC jobs with their characters. They're such a incredible couple and their dynamics worked well in this film as they provide plenty of comic humor and make the characters of Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood beautifully. Ms. Honey wasn't quite as I imagined she would be, but her actress did a rather nice job in the role, and Ms. Trunchbull's actress was just perfect. A great character/actor ensemble within a good story truly makes for a wonderful film.

Movie Review: Finally!!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is like a classic to me! Matilda is such a great movie. I've watched it tons of time. Know its a new generation, and finally its coming for the DVD player.
" MATILDA" ( 1996) starts off introducing by already giving you a message well ok her parents pick her up at the hospital and the father is like ehh not a very big fan of her is he? They ignore her. Her brother picks on her to. Finally she convinces her parents to let her go to school. It's very cool movie. And she even realizes she has a special " powers" I don't want to give it away but like I said I've watched it time and time again and never get tired of it. Theres a really nice song that plays in there. I was to blind to see it in the credits. That song even plays in Ice age. * sign* How I would love to own that song on CD.

At least try it!!!
I don't know, research or something to the least.
I think you might actually think this film is " tight".

Movie Review: Superior adaptation of a wonderful children's book
Summary: 5 Stars

I've taken to reading the source material of a lot of movie adaptations with my seven year old (who has read E.B. White's Stuart Little and Trumpet of the Swan, both of which are shadows of the original stories albeit entertaining fare despite that). Not only does this adaptation stay true to the story, it does so without losing any of the impact of Matilda's quest to find her place in the world.

What I particularly like is this strong female protaganist--I don't think there's a child who will watch this film who doesn't wish he or she were as strong, brave or gifted as Matilda.

Both of my boys love this movie, although the little one hides during the assembly sequence (not that I blame him, it's pretty gross), and my older one insists that I sit with him during the Trunchbull's chase scene.

Good family entertainment--this is one children's film that parents can and should watch with their kids.

Movie Review: Matilda
Summary: 5 Stars

Matilda is an extraordinary girl, a child of wonderous intelligence. Unfortunately, her neglectful and deeply stupid parents, Harry and Zinnia Wormwood are too wrapped up in their own little lives to care, or even to notice that their daughter is a budding genius, in love with books and with learning. When the Wormwoods finally grant Matilda's wish to attend school, they bundle her off to Crunchem Hall, a bleak brick prison where students cower before the whip-hand and fist of a hulking monster, principal Agatha Trunchbull. Amid Crunchem's darkness, Matilda finds a single light in warm-hearted Miss Honey, the first-grade teacher who recognizes the girl's remarkable skills including a very special talent that allows the spirited girl to turn the tables on the wicked grown-ups in her world. Matilda is a charming little movie that will delite both children and adults. Adorable and heartwarming movie.
