Movie Review: Amazing!! Exceeded my expectation!!
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is so amazing! I enjoyed watching it, it has all the elements that makes a great movie. In my opinion, this movie is better than the recent Marie Antoinette movie, you get to related more to her in this one.
Beside the story line, what i thought was great is the choice of actors, the guy who was playing king louis fits the part perfectly, better than the one they choose for the recent movie!
I Highly Recommend Watching this movie!

I'm so glad Warner Home Video is finally releasing this opulent film on DVD. Norma Shearer's films have deserved more attention on DVD. Now if they'd only release "Escape," in which she appeared with Robert Taylor!!! And what's up with "The Mortal Storm"? And "A Woman's Face"? And "The Clock"? And "The Old Maid"? And "The Search"? And what about a Stanwyck collection? She made a lot of films at MGM, RKO and WB that are surely part of the Warner library now.Movie Review: Vastly Superior To Coppola's Nightmare Acid Trip ......

This is one of the finest French period pieces ever made. Visually, it's hypnotic and surpasses the highest expectations. Adrian's costumes are spectacular and the sets, script and casting are all superlative, with the exception of Tyrone Powers, who is attractive but somewhat wooden. Sophia Coppola's new version of "Marie" is a joke compared to this masterpiece. Only "Dangerous Liaisons" is in the same league as this hidden treasure.Movie Review: Magnificent Performance

Probably one of the or the best top of the line production made by Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios. Norma Shearer gave the performance of her career and lifetime. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress , her sixth nomination, but lost to bette Davis, but she really should have won. This gem of a film is FINALLY coming out on dvd. It is about time! One of golden era Hollywood's spectacular and lavish black and white productions.Norma Shearer is fantastic as the tragic French queen;as is all of the cast.A good paced and edited film from start to finish.Great cast,great sets,great costumes,great drama.Can't wait to finally be able to add it to my collection!
