i have followed his films and his career for most of my life. manhattan, annie hall,interiors, and for simple pleasure, manhattan murder mystery are among my TOP 5 favorite films. ( sorry woody..Lion in winter is there too!) i am a nut for good dialogue...and this film has given me Diane's Best performance since Shoot the Moon. and woody's ad-libbing style of delivery here is some of his best work. only his complex writing in Bullets Over Broadway matche some of the writing for this film.Movie Review: One of Woody's Best

Having seen the majority of all of Woody Allen's films, Manhattan Murder Mystery continues to remain near the top of my list. It's a great murder caper about a bored housewife who suspects a neighbor of foul play. Her suspicions get the best of her, and soon she has a whole cast of friends and family trying to confirm her beliefs. This movie was exelent! Anjelica Huston is my favorite actress and that's why I wached this movie. I thought 'Oh, gee. Another dumb murder mystery.' Until it got started. Then I was holding my breath through almost the entire thing! I love suspencefull movies; and this was one of 'em, let me tell ya. It wasn't only suspencefull, but funny. Woody Allen is a genios.

Movie Review: I can watch this over and over!

Diane Keaton is simply amazing in this movie. She plays the hell out of the title character. It was nice to see Alan Alda in a great suporting role. Even Woody Allen himself didn't irritate me. The storyline isn't the most original and the ending get's a bit cheesy but never the less, this movie is way entertaining. Great movie. Made like the good oldies. A real plot, action, and suspense, without having to fill in with special effects. One you can watch over and over without tiring. Allen, Alda, Keaton and Houson at their best. They should have done more together. Also recommend Allen's newest movie, "Small Time Crooks". Keep them coming, Woody !!
