Movie Reviews of Making LoveMovie Review: Another wonderful blast from the past Summary: 5 Stars
A wonderful film about coming out in the 1990's. I remember going to see this film in the movie theaters like 4-5 times. It was just before I came out myself and it meant so much to me to see this in a mainstream movie theater. As I watched this dvd, all of those memories came flooding back. A beautiful love story and also a story of a man discovering himself. A classic film for anyone interested in how being gay has been interpreted in cinema.
Movie Review: Finally! Summary: 5 Stars
If you saw "Making Love" during its original theatrical release, you will remember how it made you feel and how wonderful it really was. If you are under 20, consider it a must see classic if you haven't already. Regardless, the movie was one of the most intelligent and kind coming out portrayals ever put on film during the decade it was made. Bravo. It was my generation's Brokeback Mountain. We've come a long way, baby. Need I say more?
Movie Review: Real 5 Stars
While this may be considered to be an old film, the issues addressed are very current. It has helped people who are struggling with their sexuality to accept their faith and to be delivered from a life of deceipt. As similar to broke back mountain it also shows that sometimes people marry for the wrong reasons. All in all good acting and very attractive people.
Movie Review: Making Love Summary: 5 Stars
Making Love is a sensitive treatment of what many married gay men go through on a daily basis. Despite the changes in our society many gay men still feel the pressure to be married to a woman. Many do not realize they are gay until after they marry. This movie shows both the tragedy of this decision and the fact that all can turn out well in the end.
Movie Review: A Pre Brokeback Mountain Summary: 5 Stars
If any gay themed movie ever deserved to be nominated for an academy awrd this is one that should have, but let's not forget it was released in 1982 when hollywood was just breaking the barriers of gay movies. Definately better than Brokeback Mountain and not as slow moving. It's great this movie was finally put on DVD.
