Movie Review: Absolutely appealing actors and acting
Summary: 5 Stars
The male romantic lead was made for this part, as is his side-kick, and the Boston creep was convincing as the anti-hero. Can't imagine a better actress as the lead: she had no difficulty presenting the polar opposites her role required. That said, I somehow kept trying to find something to criticize here - not sure why - and came away empty. One scene went too far, but it is brief and definitely a part of the story. The people had failings, of all sorts, and some learned to leave them behind and go on with a life that mattered. The movie gets better on third and fourth review, but I wouldn't share it with the entire family.
Life in Boston, with corruption and unseemly criminals running things, is compared to life on the frontier, with it's own corruption and unseemly criminals taking over. In the worst of places there are those who look at life from a giving rather than receiving point of view, and we find them at both ends of the nation in the 1880's as well. The mail-order bride is a substitute but the recipient keeps her for a trial period anyway. He isn't sorry, eventually, but others are.
A really nice period piece, and I love that the weather is terrible but not even mentioned. Canadian filming is pure genius.

The Wild West just got a little wilder?Trouble hits con woman Diana McQueen (Daphne Zuniga) when she decides to call it quits with her menacing boss, Tom Rourke (Greg Evigan). But for Diana, the only way to escape his grasp is to move out West and take the place of her friend as a mail order bride. Wyoming rancher Beau Canfield (Cameron Bancroft) has no idea of the trouble that?s heading his way.
