Movie Review: Pretty Woman with an honest profession...
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is such a reflection of Pretty Woman, that I almost found myself singing the song. Instead of Julia Roberts as a prostitute, we get Jennifer Lopez as a hotel maid. However, besides the obvious similarities, the movie stands alone with the honest reflection of two people from different worlds, who quickly discover they need each other. The politician who finds himself in awe of the intelligent woman, who reminds him that he doesn't really have a clue what those in receipt of his charity functions truly need, or what their lives are like. And the maid with dreams of her own, but with a little more fear of success than failure. This is a wonderful romantic film, and if I had to make a complaint I would have liked to see the politician step into the shoes of the poor for a day or two - as suggested to him. This is the only place the film ran short, as Marisa did step into the lifestyle of his. It would have made for a much more interesting, and maybe a little more humorous film. All in all, this is a highly recommended film, and if you haven't seen Pretty Woman... I'd get them both and sit back for an evening of pure romance and fun!Oh and how can I forget the character that plays Jennifer Lopez' 10 year old son!! He's spectacular... now this is a young actor to watch!!
Movie Review: "MAID" MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED

I love this film. It is such a "feel good movie" that I recommend it far more than some of these reviewers. I've never thought of myself as a big JLo fan but I must be since I always enjoy her films, and she does a great job. I love Ralph Fiennes because he is absolutely one of the best actors ever. Ralph wins my money here also but running head to head with him for full-blown entertainment is a little boy named Tyler Garcia Posey who plays JLo's son, Ty. He is absolutely adorable and has such charm and charisma it's hard to believe. You must watch this film for this performance and the interaction between little Ty and Fiennes' Chris Marshall character. You will also love the close relationship depicted between this single, hardworking Mom who is trying to keep things together and still give her son all the time he needs to feel loved and secure. This is a story people would love to believe could actually happen. Therefore, you definitely get emotionally involved with the characters. This film gets you away from all the pain and violence in the movies today. It is a major, refreshing feeling. I think you will enjoy every minute if you are a person who loves a love story no matter what. Try it.Movie Review: A movie worth watching!

A very pleasant surprise, Maid in Manhattan, brings to the screen exactly what the title implies: the story of a hotel maid that crosses paths with an affluent political candidate, and end up falling in love with each other.
I have to admit that I did not know what to expect from the film, but as it turns out it was a very pleasant and entertaining movie!
It is a film about human relations, hope and second chances, but most importantly about trust, love, and inner strength.
Jennifer Lopez, Ralph Fiennes, and the rest of the cast, have outdone themselves with their performances, which are exceptional to say the least. All the actors, without exceptions, give it their 100% and it really shows (the chemistry is AMAZING)! Very well written and very well presented, the movie is without a doubt guaranteed to provide more than just a few laughs, not to mention a few tears. The film is simple enough, but does a great job of describing people's every day lives and the problems they face. It just goes to show that simplicity is often far better than complexity, when trying to present issues of a human nature.
In short, Maid in Manhattan is a movie definitely worth watching!
Movie Review: One of the best movies of J.Lo.
Summary: 5 Stars
I've seen almost all J.Lo movies and I think that the only good ones are: "Selena", "Enough" and this one because "The cell" and "Angel eyes" were simply terrible. Her performance in the movie is very good, she's funny and lovely.Her role is of a divorce woman with a son. She works in a luxury hotel in New York and one day she's cleaning a room and her son arrives with a candidate to the Congress (Ralph Finnes) because he wants to go out with the candidate's dog. Jennifer was wearing an elegant suit from one of the guests (Natasha Richardson-who happends to be the best influence of the movie with her very good and funny character as a millionaire who is desesperate to get married). So Ralph Finnes thinks of Jennifer as an important business woman and he want's to see her again and there starts the chain of problems that makes this movie so funny.
Once again I must say that the performances of J.Lo, Ralph Finnes and Natasha Richardson are very good.
You' ll love this movie which it's considerate as the new Pretty Woman.

Maid in Manhattan is a gem, a romantic comedy destined to be one of the classics. The story of a hotel maid who accidentally meets an aspiring senator and contrives to have him believe she is actually a wealthy hotel guest harkens back to the romantic comedies of the 1940's. Indeed, Liam Neeson is a modern-day Cary Grant in this film.The movie, in addition to all the fun, points out serious issues of class and race differences. And in a very touching way, the movie asks us to take a look at ourselves: our jobs, our lives, and to ask ourselves, are we holding back from our dreams because we have been taught that this is as far as we can go? Maid in Manhattan is inspiring to anyone who has looked wistfully at a star, but did not believe she deserved to try to reach it.
Bob Hoskins turns in a wonderful performance as a hotel butler. He has some of the best lines in the film.
