Movie Reviews of Mad Money

Movie Review: Greatest Movie Since "Hanging Up!"
Summary: 5 Stars

Is anyone not glad that Diane Keaton is working again? Probably Mia Farrow, but not me. She is a delight from start to finish, and this movie is 100 brilliant, you better believe it.

Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes star as sisters who develop a money laundering scheme so genius and yet so heinous and grisly, that it left me both cheering them on and hiding my face behind my hands. But I must admit, even though I hate when laws are broken, when you get these three ladies together the only crime would be not laughing uproariously!

Of course Katie Holmes is in her element doing slapstick comedy, but I was surprised to see how well Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah were able to also adapt to the genre. That Queen Latifah is one sassy lady, I must say, and be prepared for plenty of sass when you watch this film.

When three sisters devise a money scheme this enchanting, the only thing that really gets stolen is your heart, as a moviegoer. After you see this movie, you will probably think ill of the government and your upbringing. It's hilarious!!!!

Movie Review: Everyone Needs a Little Mad Money!
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie is a lively romp that answers the timeless question, "If they are going to throw that money away anyway, why don't we have some fun with it?" (See answer below)

Diane Keaton is a pampered housewife with no skills and a husband (Ted Danson) with no job. Forced to take a job as a janitor in a federal bank, she meets two lovable women (Queen Latifa and Katie Holmes) who become her accomplices in a daring plan to save used money from extinction.

The plan works, for a while, but, of course, their scheme is discovered and trouble results. Funny and fun trouble, that is!

There are a number of good laughs in this movie. Save it for a time when laughter is just what you need. Don't expect outstanding movie-making, but do expect fun and lots of giggles. Because it's not a classic, I was tempted to give it four stars, but, for its genre, it's quite good. So, five stars!

P.S. Answer to the timeless question: Because the fed says, "No Way, Baby!"

This movie is wonderfully conceived, with great writing, directing, casting, acting, and editing. I was skeptical about this movie when I first learned about the basic premise, since it is one that has been done many times before, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see how fresh and funny this came off. The plot has more twists than you might expect. A director's commentary and a behind the scenes documentary are included. The only problem I had was with the packaging! I have handled thousands of DVDs, but the case this DVD came in would not release the disk! I had to break the center hub to get the DVD out. That is a first. Hopefully, you will have better luck.

Movie Review: Money is a comic caper
Summary: 5 Stars

Thelma and Louise's Oscar winning Scribe Callie Khouri directs this caper comeduy...and it works so well

When you put three lead actresses (Queen Latifah, Katie Holnes and Diane Keaton together with a script this cute, NO ONE can screw it up. Is this funny?---YES. These actresses are pros and keep upping their games on the DVD screen

This modern day telling of greedy and beating the system blends so well in this comic caper. The director almost had to do nothing!

It is a comedy. It is a crime caper. If you liked Ocean's Eleven, you will love this!

So Go Mad and get this

Movie Review: Funny, Funny movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a nice imaginative movie that I think we've all thought of once in our life, in "what would be do if we had lots & lots & lots of money." Without giving much of the movie away, the movie deals with three women who have access to "old money." And then naturally comes problems of where to you keep all this money once you have it (let your mind be creative).

Queen Latifa, (as in all her movies) is again funny in this movie.

I really enjoyed watching this movie, and I think others will as well.
