Movie Review: Is it possible for her to get any better?
Summary: 5 Stars
Ever since her excellent first U.S. release, "Aquí," Julieta Venegas has done nothing but improve in every way. With each release, her song writing, arrangements, and delivery have matured, to the point where one wonders if it possible for her to get any better. With her most recent previous release, "Limon y Sal," Venegas proved that popular music (in any language) can actually be interesting as well as entertaining. When I first heard "Limon y Sal," I assume that she had reached a peak. Now "MTV Unplugged" brings together her best music in a superb live performance that surpasses everything she had previously produced. Her performance throughout is tight and disciplined with charm to spare. The assembled musicians are equally tight, surpassing the studio musicians of past CD releases. While the DVD contains a few more songs than the CD version of "MTV Unplugged," it doesn't hurt to have an audio version of this great concert for the car. And, while you're at it, get a copy of another great Julieta Venegas CD, "Sí." Thank you, Julieta, for making music that holds up!Movie Review: Simplemente el mejor MTV Unpplugged

Este no es cualquier acustico. La multi-talentosa Julieta Venegas aprovechó esta oportunidad para crear una propuesta musical nueva, re-inventando sus canciones, llenándolas de nuevos sonidos a través de excelentes y novedosos arreglos. Ademas, selecionó muy bien sus invitados, basandose en su calidad artistica y no en el nivel de fama de estos. Fue un verdadero "dream team". Para comenzar, tiene entre sus musicos a la tambien talentosisima y multi-instrumentista Natalia Lafourcade. En "eres para mi" invito a la hip-hoper espanola La Mala Rodriguez, (hermosa y sexy por demas!)haciendo gala de su destreza y fuerza en el escenario. Otra agradable sorpresa fue Juan Son. Les confieso que no sabia quien era, pero que voz mas impresionante! Ademas, le tocó cantar una de las mejores canciones de Julieta - "de mis pasos" de su primer disco -. Como si fuera poco, tuvo de invitada a Marisa Monte, para muchos la mejor cantante de su generacion de la musica brasileira. Con su habitual seguridad y elegancia la "tribalsta" se lució como siempre con su increible voz y modo de interpretar. Luego subio a la tarima su antiguo productor, el Rey Midas del Rock en español y ganador de dos Oscares, Gustavo Santaolalla,.Para cerrar con broche de oro, la acompañó en la co-dirección y co-producción Jaques Morelenbaum; ¿quieren una referencia? este violonchelista es el director musical de Caetano Veloso. En síntesis, Una produccion impecable, que la disfruten...Movie Review: BLOWN AWAY!!!!

All I say is WOW!!! It was instant love. This girl has the total package, period. It was only recently that I've been into Latin Alternative, and this article I read mentioned that Julieta and Cafe Tacuba were the head of the pack. So I took the splash and bought the combo CD/DVD of her MTV Unplugged performance, and I was flat-out stunned!!!
She reminds me of a Latin Feist, Lenka or KT Tunstall, even Lily Allen, but with her own unique flavour. I could not skip tracks or turn it off...I was transfixed. I loved her childlike enthusiasm and her ability on various instruments, as well as that of her band (her drummer rocks), and even a guy on TUBA...you do NOT see that everyday.
I loved the crowd's enthusiasm too, singing along to every song. Julieta's performance made me an instant fan...now I have to buy all her studio albums, and collabos and see her live. And I don't know that much Espanol...doesn't matter one iota.
Now, if ever she does an album in Ingles, I have a feeling it will be interesting and not watered down either...that's how good she is.
Movie Review: A must have DVD - Compralo si o si

Como se ha escrito anteriormente este Unplugged es uno de los mejores en lengua castellana hasta la fecha (casi rivaliza con el Hello, el Unplugged del gran Charly Garcia) y consituye un hito en la carrera de Julieta Venegas mostrandonos asi el porque el maestro Joaquin Sabina, el mejor cantautor, ha dicho de ella que es una genia. Tocando con maestria varios instrumentos e imprimiendo sentimiento a cada canción que interpreta Julieta nos lleva por un repaso de su discografia, a la cual le imprime otro matiz, de una manera tan maravillosa que los 15 temas pareceria que acaban demasiado pronto. La calidad de la producción musical es impecable, los arreglos magnificos y los músicos en total sintonía con la idea que Julieta tiene del concierto. Imprescindible en cualquier colección. Gracias Julieta... creo que Sabina ya tiene su contraparte femenina.
A masterpiece. So far the best Unplugged of this decade. Julieta performs great and also in a unique way, full of feeling. Ms. Venegas rocks ! Do a favor yourself and order this DVD now.
Movie Review: Wonderful.

I did a decent amount of research before buying this...untimatelty from amazon. What I wanted to know was:
1. Was this 1.33:1 (full screen) or Widescreen (hopefully anamorphic)?
2. Was it stereo or surround?
I did find an answer. The wrong answer. A small number of websites (who actually had the information) said 1.33:1/stereo. Amazon even says 1.33:1. This is not 1.33:1. It is 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen. While it does have stereo on the disc it also has 5.1 Surround, both Dolby Digital and DTS. Amazing presentation.
DVD aside the preformance on the disc is awesome. It's obvious Julieta enjoys what she's doing. I've heard alot of music...I currently own hundreds of albums from all over the world and she is one of my favorites. I've heard very few artists who can time and time again deliver amazing preformances one after the other. Not only does she sing she writes songs, plays the accordion, produces, and arranges as well.
