Movie Reviews of Lucky NumbersMovie Review: Destined For Cult Status. A "Ruthless People" for 2000. Summary: 5 Stars
This Film Represents Iron-Clad Proof that U.S. Box Office Numbers have nothing to do with the worth of a film, they have to do with Marketing Campaigns, Star-Power, Ect. "Lucky Numbers" deserved to rake in $200 Million, it didn't. "Meet the Parents" deserved to rake in $200 Thousand, it didn't. It is just Wrong."Lucky Numbers" was one of the Funniest movies I've seen in a Very Long Time. The Performances are Genuinely Hysterical. Seeing John Travolta and Tim Roth Share the screen for the first time since "Pulp Fiction" (in a Coffee Shop as well)is simply one of the greatest moments in cinema since 1994. (Pulp Fictions Release) Even Lisa Kudrow, who I usually Can't Stand, was Great and the Supporting cast of Ed O'Neil and Michael Rapaport are Brilliant. Which Brings me to Bill Pullman, (who has always been a favourite of mine since "Ruthless People")Just when I thought the film was going to start going downhill,(i thought no movie could keep this laugh rate up) Bill enters and Makes it even Funnier. He plays one of the Funniest Characters ever to grace the screen. Brilliant Stuff all round. Travolta, come live in Australia, where your comedic brilliance is Appreciated.
Movie Review: Its The Little Things Summary: 5 Stars
I went to see this movie it's opening weekend back in October. I am not a fan of John Travolta but I am a huge Lisa Kudrow fan. Its been six months since the release of this film and without ever viewing this again, I went out and bought it. I didn't really remember that much about it. I just remembered in one of the first things when Lisa Kudrow's character Christal tripped and the look on her face and I knew I had to buy this movie. That is how it is for the entire movie. There arent ALOT of really funny moments but there are enought to easily get you through the movie. Lisa Kudrow is great as Christal, a snobby Lotto girl, who seems to be sleeping with everyone. Bill Pullman is hilarious as a lazy cop. I recommend this to anyone who wants something a little different than the mainstream comedies that seem to be more popular. This was funny in its own, original way. As for the DVD itself, there arent alot of special features but I guess in the end, all you need is the movie.
Movie Review: Fun movie! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is smart, fun, and funny. I'd never heard of it before catching it on TV a few months ago, but I couldn't change the channel! It's got great lines with great delivery. Smart, fun, and funny. I just don't know how else to describe it. Travolta is excellent from the start, and Bill Pullman, though he only arrives halfway through the movie, is hilarious. Tim Roth and Lisa Kudrow are also very funny in their roles. The dialogue is easy to follow, but sometimes the humor is quick and subtle, so pay attention! Here are a couple of my favorite lines, but believe me there are a bunch:
Jerry the bookie: I mean Jesus Christ himself can't rig the state lottery...unless, unless Jesus had a buddy down at the TV station.
Crystal: And I want that ticket back. And I want Dick Simmons dead, you hear me!?
Gig: Fine, fine.
Crystal: And I want his head cut off so I can hang it from my rear view mirror!
Gig: Now that's just your anger talking.
Movie Review: This is Just Another One That Most People Don't get Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know why this movie didn't do better, and why some reviews are ONE STAR reviews. It is certainly much better than ONE STAR. Nevertheless, I found this to be up with GET SHORTY, very dialogue driven movie, which I personally love.
Very funny moments, characters and story. Tim Roth, Michael Rapaport, Ed O'Neil, Bill Pullman and Michael Moore all add great funny performances. I generally don't like Travolta, but both this and GET SHORTY is the exception.
This, like 29th Street is an underrated movie that I think people had too high expectations and therefore the possible disaapointment. I laughed almost through the entire movie. What people will do for money!
Movie Review: Loved it. Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this movie, but it tanked so bad at the box office, and got some bad reviews, I rented it to see it again because I loved it, but also to see if it wasn't as good as I remembered. It was BETTER than I remembered. It just hilarious, very well written and well acted and directed. A lot of reviews below are bad. I think if you don't like this TYPE of movie you're not going to like it. Some people didn't like RAISING ARIZONA, another dark comedy about sleazy but LIKABLE characters. I loved RAISING ARIZONA. So if you liked that, you may like this. Obvious diverse opinion about this movie...but I LOVED it.
