Though I am a great admirer of Medem's work, I found this movie very unsatisfying. Considering the movie's ending, the thick web of coincidences really lead nowhere.
Summary of Lovers of the Arctic Circle
One of the most acclaimed and beloved Spanish films in recent years, Lovers of the Arctic Circle charts the remarkable destinies of Ana (Sex and Lucia's Najwa Nimri) and Otto (Open Your Eyes' Fele Martinez), friends since childhood whose fates intersect over the years, leading to a stunning conclusion in which destiny and romance collide.
