Movie Reviews of Love Comes SoftlyMovie Review: excellent family movies! Summary: 5 Stars
I watched this movie last night. Basically it told the story about terrible tragedy that happen to Murthy's husband and she finally had to accept marriage proposal from Clark and the rest of story telling about how they live together with Clark's daughter and start to love each other.
I just want to make 2 most interesting point from this movie.
One is when Murthy asking Clark why he believes in God and loves God while God still allows bad thing happen to him. Clark experience bad situation when his wife passed away and his barn destroyed by fire lately.
He gaves an example that when father teach their child to walk, he will let his child to fall in order to learn how to walk but he will always be there to help. Same thing with God. He won't promise bad things will not happen to us, but He promise will always be there for us because of His loves.
2nd point is when finally comes the time for Murthy to go back home. Murthy wrote letter to Clark saying if he wants her to stay, she will stay. But somehow the letter drop to floor and he missed it.
After drop her to station, Clark came back to his room and praying why God let this thing happen to him. While most people will complaining about, he pray for help to overcome the situation and help him to accept it.
Movie Review: Clean, family-friendly love story that will warm your heart! Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this film on the Hallmark Channel, and TIVO'd it to watch: I have since watched it a few times and will buy the DVD when it's released! Based on a novel by Christian historical fiction writer Janette Oke, "Love Comes Softly," centers on Marty, a young woman who travels West with her husband. When tragedy strikes this newly married couple, grief-striken Marty must find a way to survive the harsh land that she is surrounded by.
For those of you worried about content: this is a family-friendly film! There is no language that I can recall, no violence, and no adult themes. There is one scene where a man accidentally walks in on a woman taking a bath (nothing is shown), some squabbling between two people, and a woman preparing a live chicken for a meal, but other than that, I could not find anything objectionable.
This is a cute and family-friendly story, that promotes the themes of morality, love, honor, courage, faith, etc.
Movie Review: "LOVE" is ALWAYS the Answer!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
OK so if you have seen any of these WONDERFUL movies by Michael Landon JR. you know how addicting they can be!!! It's a Western, it's a Love Story, it's a movie about Faith, it's a movie about GOD, and it's a movie fit for the WHOLE Family! I caught the end of: Love Comes Softly--late one night when I couldn't sleep and was surprised to find out it was on a local"Christian" type station....then I found out it was a whole set of movies and I HAD TO HAVE THEM ALL. I have gotten several of the movies as gift {the givers are now hooked too!}and only need a few more to complete my set. My personal opinion is that if you have a chance to "Beg", "Barrow", OR EVEN "Steal"{OK NOT Steal} any of the movie in this series {or books by this author}DON"T hesitate.....DON'T think..... ..Just do it! If you consider yourself faithful but can't stand organized religions than this is the set of movies for you!!!{I think they have A LOT in common with the "Left Behind" series}
Movie Review: A father's unconditional love Summary: 5 Stars
Love Comes Softly is a simply told story of love on many levels. It is sweetly romantic but offers real moral depth. It is mostly content to show rather than tell -- a strength in movies. The director understands a metaphor. The telling that does occur, works in context. The central exposition is well-placed and is as well and simply stated an explanation of why bad things happen to good people as I've heard. I found the lead actors engaging and attractive. Katherine Heigl as Marty and Dale Midkiff as Clark are convincing in their tragedies and joys. The Western frontier setting strips away the distractions of modern life but reveals the core of humanity that is no different today than one hundred or even two thousand years ago. While the outcome is predictable, it is because human nature is consistent. If you want to experience emotion vicariously, and risk some tears and some laughter, Love Comes Softly is a good choice.
Movie Review: Predictable, but worth watching! Summary: 5 Stars
This show begins with a touch of tragedy. After finding a new homestead, a young husband is killed, leaving behind a wife from back east to fend for herself. A mysterious stranger offers her a home for the winter, with a promise to send her east again in the spring, if that's what she wants. They marry - to the horror of the man's 9 year old daughter. Eventually, this educated woman is able to break down the walls around this little girl, and at the same time find herself in love with the girl's father. It isn't the 'lightning' love that some expect; it comes softly. Predictably, they have to nearly lose each other before either will admit to their love. Underlying in this story is a great lesson in having faith in God, and in believing that all things happen for a reason. An excellent family show, as well as an introspective look on our own beliefs as to why things happen the way they do. Definitely a must watch!
