Movie Reviews of Logan's RunMovie Review: Cult Classic Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie for the first time on AMC a few months back and after I saw it I immediately got on the internet and ordered it. I love the special effects and set design. The only real negative to the movie is that the storyline isn't really completed and at a few spots in the movie it almost seems like the makers forgot what was going on or what the movie was about.
If you liked West World, The Omega Man, or Soylent Green you will love Logan's Run as it leaves all of those movies in its dust. I definately recommend getting this movie and the book.
Movie Review: deathless Summary: 5 Stars
This movie ought to be studied over and over again by the people who write and make science fiction films.
It is the preeminent example in the genre of how you can have the most awful look, the most inept direction, and the cheesiest, most laughable special effects . . .
. . . and yet the film will be universally known and still talked about decades later because of what a solid, solid story it was.
About a million times more potent that some dumb monster eating people in outer space!
Movie Review: Logan's Run - Guilty Pleasure Summary: 5 Stars
I always enjoyed watching Logan's Run on late night TV. The story is excellent, about a utopia where you can have everything - save for your thirtieth birthday. I could watch the film 50 times and not get bored with it. Logan's Run is even better on DVD in anamorphic widescreen. The picture can be soft at times, but looks excellent for a 70's film. The commentary by the director and Michael York is insightful. This movie is perhaps my favorite guilty pleasure.
Movie Review: Excellent movie! Summary: 5 Stars
I have enjoyed this movie for years and I am pleased to see it finally coming out on DVD and with extras and a fabulous price!! It is interesting to note that the original age for people to die was 21 and not 30(read the book) but then Michael York could in no way pass for 21! Peter Ustinov and Jenny Aguter are two excellent actors who really make their characters believable. I loved all the cats when I was young and the images of the destroyed US civilization.
Movie Review: classic movie great SF Summary: 5 Stars
Michael York!
In the year 2274, after the world has been decimated by a holocaust, a new society is built and resides in a domed city. However, it is forbidden for humans to live beyond 30 and you are given two choices, either to go through a ritual called Carousel with the promise of being "renewed", or go on the run and risk being hunted down by an elite police force known as Sandmen.
