Movie Reviews of Living on Live Food

Movie Review: Love it !!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Love the video! So worth what I paid!! It is like having someone teach you in your home.

Movie Review: I would recommend it
Summary: 4 Stars

I have purchased about 7 raw food DVDs. This is one of my top picks with Raw Food Made Easy by Jenny Cornbleet. I like them equally well and would recommend both but I will tell you the differences between the two.
1. As other have said this video has a lot of none instructional time built into it. It is filmed from the perspective of sharing information with friend while preparing food in the kitchen. There is time spent on why be raw. So if you are raw you may not like the "fluff" It did not bother me, I watched the entire video the first time and I fast forward when I re-watch.
2. There are not lots of strict measurements- but I find that a general truth in raw food prep. If you have the book then all the recipes in the video are in the book
3. There is a good range of simple to complex recipe demos

One thing I would say is that if you are starting off raw and do not want to or can not afford to invest in the high end juicer- wait. Go online to YouTube and find directions on using a high powered blender with a nut milk bag. Unfortunately neither of these videos demos that.

This video is probably best in conjunction with the book

Movie Review: Fun to watch. Helpful to see Alissa's recipes in action.
Summary: 4 Stars

We don't need to be rude about the ladies in this video. The product description should probably explain what "style" of teaching it is so customers have a better grasp of what they're getting. For the record, this video was created in a very conversational way. Some people appreciate this sort of communication. It's very obvious that the ladies LOVED the food...as we could tell by their expressions, but so what? The expressions of the one lady were priceless and made the video that much more entertaining. She was likable though...not annoying at all. I would agree that the DVD could have been done more professionally. I found many times, the videography was blurry. And yes, Alissa does use her hands quite a bit in the mixing of ingredients without always washing them between meal preparation. And Alissa says "totally" a lot. But who really cares? This woman is EXCITED about raw food and it shows in this video. If you're not hooked on at least trying a raw food diet after watching this DVD, I'd be surprised. The companion book to this DVD, with all the recipes she demonstrates, is a must have! Very good read with testimonials.

Movie Review: Worth Viewing
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased the book and the DVDs at the same time because, after a great deal of personal research and experimentation with a variety of diets, I became convinced that a raw vegan diet is far safer than the FDA approved disease promoting modern American diet (MAD) or standard American diet (SAD). After reading the book and getting to the recipes, I felt the same as I did after reading other books with recipes. I felt like I was looking at a road map for the first time. It looked too difficult. But after watching the video and seeing how easy it was to prepare raw vegan meals, I was sold. True, the video could have been a bit more instructional with less chit-chat (my four stars), but it served the purpose for me.

Movie Review: A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS
Summary: 4 Stars

While the video may not have been directly "instructional" to the viewer, I enjoyed watching Alissa make A LOT of her delicious recipes found in her book. It was inspiring and very helpful to my new-found desire to become raw. I did think it was funny to watch the ladies in the video eat SO MUCH FOOD in one sitting. If they didn't walk out of there with indigestion, I know I felt it just by watching. But at the used DVD price that I paid, I was extremely satisfied and thankful to have this in my library of DVD's for raw food prep. Her recipes are very delicious, especially for people coming out of the SAD way of eating.
