Movie Review: The Music that will live forever...

Nana Mouskouri is one of those universal treasurers that come along once in awhile to remind us of how good an art form can be. Nana is arguably the best female singer to have ever lived. I know, that's a HUGE statement and one that could be endlessly debated. But I know of no other that has sold some 200 million LPs and CDs in her illustrious career! Live at herod Atticus, circa 1989, is an incredible demonstration of her singing ability--and in five or six languages! My only regret is that people in the US never had a significant opportunity to fall in love with her as the rest of the world did. Her only two American tours, loosly associated with Harry Bellafonte and Quincy Jones, lacked the 'main street' push of other imported stars and she never entered the 'main stream' of American pop or music culture--and, in truth, we are the poorer for it! If you are unaware of Nana, then her DVD 'Live at Herod Atticus' is an excellent place to start to get to know and enjoy her talent!
