Movie Review: Good playing but bureaucratic

I have been Roy's fan for years since I listened to his live album and Roy's buzz: incredible playing with feeling and a superb technique. I was curious to watch this DVD 'cause I never had the chance to see him perform live. Unfortunately, I got disappointed. He sounds and acts very bureaucratic, in a "lets get done with it" kind of way. His technique is there all right, but his soul... I am not sure. He barely communicates with the audience, he seems to be playing and signing for himself; at times it is even difficult to hear what he sings. Maybe at this show Roy was already fighting his demons....
