Movie Reviews of Lionheart

Movie Review: abouut the movie lionheart.......
Summary: 5 Stars

The story basically talks about Van Damme running away from army work to hekp his brother's family to overcome financially after his bother was killed by some 'gansters' or something. He earn his income throught some underground fighting which he later give to his brother's wife(if I've not forgotten the story). They are good numbers of action fighting scenes which I could say is a remarkable effort put into this movie/film. The only problem is that this movie/film is using indication of knife which is rather unsuitable for kids (that type of thing, the 'bear' issue or this..chinese) to watch. A very good recommendation to those whom are interested in this genre of movie/film.....Enjoy....

Movie Review: Brilliantly crosses over to drama!
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me start by saying that I don't go for action-adventure movies. I was reluctantly dragged to this one by my boyfriend yet came away singing its praises. Wow!!! Most AA movies are mere vehicles to showcase the star's martial-arts prowess; this movie does much, much more. It crosses over into the mainstream and has a plot which is much more riveting than the so-called blockbusters Hollywood churns out. The characters are believable and rouse genuine emotions. To wit: Jean Claude's tears when he is informed of his brother's death. How could that not melt your heart? And the genuine and desperate need of his sister-in-law and little niece -- who can't empathize with that?

This is the only AA movie that would score huge points with feminists because unlike every other movie in its genre, LIONHEART is very female-dominated. The genuinely powerful people are not Jean Claude or any of his competitors, even the Goliath he ultmately battles. They are the niece and the sister-in-law, and, of course, the lady he works for in the fighting world. These are the people who call all the shots and control every aspect of this movie.

The score is wonderful, too, especially the piece that is played while Jean Claude covertly watches his sister-in-law and niece walk to school one morning.

Because this movie crosses over so brilliantly, I think it could very accurately be categorized as a drama. The ending is a complete tearjerker!

Movie Review: Without question Van Damme's best movie!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only we get to see him doing what he does best, which is kicking and fighting, but he really acts in this movie.

The story is touching: he's a french legionnaire in Djibouti when he gets a letter from his brother's wife that his broter has been severily injured, so he leaves for the USA, without money and with the french secret service behind him. When he gets there he has to fight to earn money for his brother's family, the brother's wife and his niece ( a beautiful little girl ).

The fight sequences are great, the last fight is one of the best Van Damme's fights ever.

Harrison Paige's acting is really good, and his character is really well done. His dialogue at the end of the final fight is one of the movie's best moments.

If you like any other Van Damme movie, then you have to buy this one.
If you don't like Van Damme at all, but like martial arts movies, then you have to buy this one, because the fighting scenes are great.
If you don't like martial arts movies, then you have to buy this one, because the story is interesting and touching.
What can I say? It's a great movie!

So...buy this movie, hightly recommended.

Movie Review: Van Damne's Best Acting Effort
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me say right off that Jean Claude Van Damne isn't a great actor nor a credible looking fighter. That being said, this is easily his best effort on both fronts.

Here he plays Lyon, a solider in the Foreign Legion who learns that his brother in America was killed in a drug deal gone bad. He left behind an estranged wife and a little girl who is in desperate need. Wanting to help, he escapes the Legion and secretly gives her money through winnings he gets from various illegal underground fights.

Let me say that this story has a lot of heart (no pun intended) for an R rated film. While there is language in it, the family element in the movie is unmistakable. It would ALMOST be apporpriate for family viewing if not for the language as the violence is kept to a minium until the final fight. There is some suggestive sexuality in it but that, also, is kept very brief.

Overall, this is worth a view for older teens to adults. Unless you see it on TV or find an edited version of it, I would not recommended it for young viewers.

That all being said, its one of Van Damne's finest movies.

Movie Review: Another amazing van damme movie...WHAT A SHOCKER!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Let me just say....this is one of VAN DAMME's cheeziest but amazing movies other than kickboxer, bloodsport, and double impact.. But cheezy is good in this case... Van DAmme escapes from a military base in North Africa...and arrives in L.A. To visit his dead brothers wife. Since he is broke when arrived to L.A. he has to fight in order to make a living....!!! WHat a great Plot...so far.... Later on in the movie he becomes close with his brothers wife...and stays in L.A. The Action is pretty cool with good fight scenes....IF ur a true Van damme Fan you would buy this even if u never saw it....I mean just look at the cover for goodness sake!!!
