Movie Reviews of Liar LiarMovie Review: Great Summary: 5 Stars
It mainly makes fun of how lawyers lie. That's a good part. And he isn't allowed to lie. That's the best partThe beginning is hilarious: The teacher asks everyone what their parents do. She asks, "And what's your dad?" He replies, "a liar." I thought that was the funniest part ever. And his wife even cheats on him. Because of always lying. And she likes this other guy, and she almost divorces her husband (the one Carrey does) and it's the only way that he left the court. Here's another funny thing: He can't EVEN write what color the pen was. Then he had a bunch of "BLUE" on his face. And this girl asks him for advice to breaking the law. I'm gonna have to not say anything about that. Because it's the best part of the movie. And the son's wish: That his dad can't lie for a full day. The sad part: He breaks a promise in part of it. And he was about to make him "un-wish" that. Then it was time his wife was on the airport, but he REALLY wanted to stay with her. She got real nervous whenever she saw him. You shoulda seen what she did whenever she took that wrapper off. And the deal with 'the claw.' She talks about how it impresses the kid. And how it's one quality of him. For anyone wanting to see the making fun of lawyers, this is for you. The only flaw: The bathroom humor whenever he beats himeself up.
Movie Review: 5 stars! This is not being too generous, because... Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a huge Carrey fan! I remember him from the days of "In Living Color," when I was a kid. I actually didn't see this movie until just recently! These days something that makes you laugh is a hot comodity, and Carrey is the one for that. This movie has such a strong story that it almost makes you assume that it's from Disney. Put a movie with a strong moral at the end of it, and throw in Carrey's status-quo of antics... I actually watched this movie once a day for a long streak of time. I can't remember when I did that last. Oh, yeah, Napoleon Dynamite. Anyhow, it's unique to put the two concepts together. It just makes Carrey's antics even funnier when put against a serious backdrop- that being the serious story of it. Carrey learns that whatever "losses" are assumed to be attained through telling the truth, equal advantages are enjoyed. Afterall, more often than not, you have to lie to cover up the lie before it, and that can be a lot of work! Maybe more than telling the truth. It just makes me chuckle to think about the facial expressions Jim Carrey comes up with. Often I do this at the most out-of-the-blue moments, and the person next to me has to be thinking, "What's his problem?"
Movie Review: VERY FUNNY! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been reading so many books that I am afraid I am way behind on all the great movies out there. Liar, Liar is one I am glad that I finally got to see. Jim Carrey does an outstanding job playing a very busy lawyer who never seems to have time for his great son Max, to the point that he misses his birthday party which totally crushes Max. Leave it to a child to have the faith that a miracle can happen and Max makes a wish that Dad will not be able to lie for an entire day, and this wish comes true. Well, now the laughs begin as 'Lawyer Dad' must go in the courtroom and lead his life unable to even tell one little white lie. I laughed myself silly! However, this movie did not leave out the tender parts as it finally comes to an end with Dad realizing just how important speaking the truth and keeping a promise can be, especially to those he loves. I thought this movie was very good and truly enjoyed it!
Movie Review: Great Father & Son Flick Summary: 5 Stars
The idea of a son who wants to spend more time with his father is touching. What gives a plot like this a refreshing feel is the outrageous comedy of Jim Carrey. If you'll remember this was Carrey's first film after he did "The Cable Guy." I guess people really didn't see this movie because of how weird the "Cable Guy" was. In any case, what they missed when a nicely set-up law-type movie with no spectacular courtroom drama (c'mon it's Jim Carrey man!) but a great all around performance of the whole "I feel guilty, I've been wrong, I'm gonna change" type deal. Don't forget to watch the outtakes at the end. They are as funny as Jackie Chan movie outtakes and Austin Power movie outtakes. It's a good father/son movie to watch after an afternoon of throwing around the pigskin.
Movie Review: Hit My Funny Bone -- Not Recommended for Children Summary: 5 Stars
OK. . ., to anyone who hasn't seen this movie, and you like to laugh occasionally at the normal albeit obscene thoughts of the dummies around you, imagine a guy who says everything that comes through his mind. You know people entertain lots of fleeting thoughts which, if known to others around them, would make them go screaming from the room. Jim Whats-His-Name is at his very best portraying this successful bozo who really has a lot on his mind that he really wouldn't like everyone around him to know.If you like to laugh, you will like this movie. You make not even take a breath for . . .. How long did it last? I don't think I even looked at the clock.
