Movie Reviews of Lethal Weapon [Blu-ray]Movie Review: The classic original on Blu Ray! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the classic and original Lethal Weapon from 1987 on Blu Ray Disc, great pQ and sound, the only quibble is Warner could have put both Theatrical(this Blu Ray release has theatical only) and Director's cuts on one Blu Ray disc and have room to spare, the only extras are the trailer for the film and some additional scenes, but for the great lowered price for the Blu ray I like this disc overall! I'm sure special editions are in the future since there gonna make a LW5,yes Lethal Weapon 5,possibly a box set all of em',we will have to wait and see!
Movie Review: Lethal Weapon Blu Ray Summary: 5 Stars
I love Blu Ray. Everything is crisper and clearer. And, of course, Lethal Weapon is one of the all time best movies ever!!
Movie Review: Best of series Summary: 5 Stars
This was the best of the series. Good humor and action scenes.
Movie Review: wheres the rest Summary: 4 Stars
I loved these movies and all I want to know is when are the 2 final installments going to be released, been far too long for them not to also be out on blu-ray. Anyone else agree???
Movie Review: Don't throw away that DVD yet Summary: 3 Stars
This has been and always will be one of my favourite movies. As one who can't seem to keep away from buddy cop films, I enjoy Lethal Weapon whenever I sit down for it. The plot may be slightly uninteresting and the music bordering on derelict, but the banter between Riggs and Murtaugh makes it all worthwhile, not to mention the beginning of a very awesome partnership.
On the blu-ray quality I can say there's not a huge improvement from the previous release, though it does look that extra bit better when played on a big screen than its fuzzier cousin the DVD. I would be happy with this copy except...
With the DVD director's cut, all the extra scenes were played within the film. In the blu-ray, they are isolated as special features. I happen to really like these scenes, especially the one with Riggs and the hooker, so not being able to see them in the flow of the movie grates on me. I would like the choice on which version I watch on a blu-ray. Surely it cannot be that hard.
I would give this film 5 stars, but in only playing as the theatrical version and with the lack of vast improvement on quality, it doesn't rate so well.
