Not to spoil or give any detail - but the eyes are super creepy! Atmospheric, dark, chilling sets. Highly recommend; a cut above the avergae for sure!

Movie Review: Excellent and creepy zombie movie despite some pacing problems Summary: 4 Stars
As much as I enjoyed Let Sleeping Corpses Lie it does suffer from some pacing problems. First off there is actually not a lot of zombie action in the movie.
We come across the first zombie about 20-min in and it's over rather quickly after that it seems like a long time before we get another zombie attack and after that one it again feels like a long time before the next.
The first half of the movie is a bit slow paced and it's not really until the 2nd half when things really start to pick up, but even after that Let Sleeping Corpses Lie has some pacing problems.
But despite that what this movie has going for it a really creepy and eerie feel through out. Even in the slow scenes Let Sleeping Corpses Lie has this great sense of dread and doom.
Director Jorge Grau uses his setting to perfection and really does a great job at creating tension; like I said despite the slowness of the movie it has this great sense of dread and doom. While this won't rate as my favorite zombie movie it is possibly one of the creepiest I have ever seen.
The cemetery scene was very well done and very creepy and the final act was also very creepy and well done. There are also some nice twists in the movie.
I was quite surprised with the twist with the lead characters I'll be honest and say I didn't expect what went down to happen and for that I must give the makers of the movie a lot of credit. The last scene though just didn't fit. It seemed to go for the happy ending and it just didn't fit the flow of the movie.
The movie is very much character driven, which is fine, but the overall story just doesn't work as well as it could have. The lead characters were likeable and that does help the movie moving along.
The Make Up F/X was done by Giannetto De Rossi who is best known to horror fans for his work on quite a few Lucio Fulci movies. Don't let his name fool you into thinking you're getting a gorefest, you won't find that here.
That's not to say there isn't any gore to be found; Let Sleeping Corpses has its gore moments, but it's not that gory. But gore-hounds won't be to disappointed the couple of gore scenes are very well done. Giannetto De Rossi in my opinion just might be the best out there when it comes to gore F/X.
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie given a better script and maybe some more action it would have been a lot better, but despite that it really is one creepy movie. Like I stated before despite some sluggish pacing at times the movie really does have an eerie feeling and is one of the creepiest zombie movies you'll ever find.
Despite the flaws I very much enjoyed Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, the score is excellent and the movie is very creepy. Just be a little patient because it's all worth it in the end.
Movie Review: A Swinging Seventies Zombie Shocker Summary: 4 Stars
This film has all the "hip" topics for a serious seventies feature film, environmentalism, generation gap issues, paranoia, and even drug/heroin addiction, but add in a smattering of zombies and gore, and this Spanish/Italian production shot in England becomes an instant genre classic.
The film is a little slow to get started as several intertwining story lines get developed (overdeveloped really), but once the first zombie appears, the plot clears the fog line and really moves forward. There's lots of good frights and good bloody zombie cannibalism, including a great scene involving a hospital receptionist and three half-dressed male zombies (hmm...what's that one zombie reaching for?).
Despite the big environmental push of the opening credits, the subplot really narrows down to a generation gap issue between an irascible old police sergeant and a young, hip, long-haired London professional, who through a series of untimely events, finds himself unfairly immersed in a nightmare in the English countryside. The film has good level of paranoia for the youth of the seventies. Our young protagonist fights the good fight, but it's against big odds. No one will believe him as he tries to expose the zombies and the cause for the walking dead. Society just doesn't want to hear the truth and refuses to listen to its youth. Eventually, he finds himself battling not only the bloodthirsty cannibals, but also the police sergeant, whose tunnel vision and prejudice has caused him to not only peg our young hero (and his kind) as a devil-worshiping thrill killer, but also as the reason for all of societies ills.
There's a little bit of unintentional silliness, but this never gets in the way of the story. Good gore. Good shocks, Great fire scenes. Zombie fans will like this one, but don't pair or compare with something like 28 Days Later. It's a lot closer to Night of the Living Dead. Enjoy!
