Movie Reviews of Let It RideMovie Review: What a ride! Summary: 5 Stars
I can not stand horse racing and do not gamble but this is a delightful movie. Richard Dreyfuss is superb as a perpetual gambling loser who gets a winning streak. A very funny movie with good performances from everyone. This is one of those small gems that pop up every now and then. You get the feeling that everyone connected with the movie loved it and put everything into it. If you enjoy comedy or appreciate Dreyfuss you will love this movie.
Movie Review: Still a great ride. Summary: 5 Stars
First saw this movie years ago with friends that rented it. Loved it. Couldn't believe we'd never heard of it. Maybe saw it once since then on TV, also awhile ago. It always comes to mind during the Triple Crown so because it's rarely shown on TV we bought it. I am happy to say it's just as good as we remembered it. Great story, great cast, funny, feel good movie. Robbie Coltrane's role is wonderful and Richard Dreyfuss is at his best.
Movie Review: Diamond in the rough Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is one of my all-time favorite "never heard of" movies. A great cast compliments solid characters and a very funny story. I typically avoid most "professional" critics' reviews, and Maltin provides more evidence to support my practice. This film is non-stop fun from beginning to end. I have seen this film hundreds of times and laugh till it hurts every time. The guy at the betting window is great! (...)
Movie Review: Two dollars on June bug in the first... Summary: 5 Stars
I'm unsure on how this movie did in the box office, however it's one of the funny that you'll ever see. Richard Dreyfus as the loveable loser who's luck finally catches up with him puts on a flawless performance. Robbie Coltrane has a small, but hysterical role as a race track employee who is witness to Dreyfus' transformation from rags to riches.
Five stars and add another if you're a race fan.
Movie Review: Best movie ever for gamblers Summary: 5 Stars
Who didn't dream of a day when you couldn't lose? Trotter is brilliantly played by Dreyfuss as the lead, but the other characters are what puts it over the top. David Johannsen, Teri Garr, and Jeniffer Tilly- who never looked better. You don't have to be a race fan to enjoy, but it does add a little to those of us who know different characters at the track.
