Movie Reviews of Les MiserablesMovie Review: Most Enjoyed Of All Adaptations Summary: 5 Stars
This particular film version of Les Miserables is arguably the best of the many I have viewed, and the acting is well done. Though no adaptation is completely thorough, this one conveys the heart of the story, which is love, sacrifice, grace, and forgiveness.
In particular, Liam Neeson inhabits the Jean Valjean character quite well, and Geoffrey Rush is just the one to play rigid, uncompromising Jabert.
Of all the various film adaptations of this story, this version is this reviewer's favorite, with the 1930s version, starring Frederich March, running a close second.
Movie Review: Awesome Movie Summary: 5 Stars
Some reviewers on this website have given it a poor rating because they felt it diverted too much from the book. We all know this is one of the great books of all-time, but in my opinion this movie is just as wonderful as the book. Different from the book in parts, yes, but still equally as good. Liam Neeson is awesome. The filming is realisic and the acting all-around is first rate. If you're someone who can't stand to watch a film that is a little different from the book, don't bother. If you're someone that simply wants to watch a great movie and story, don't miss it!
Movie Review: Redemption & Grace Summary: 5 Stars
This is an amazing film. I've heard of the story before, but never read it. There is one golden string that trails all along the film: the power of grace; the strength of mercy; the beauty of redemption. Themes that are not exploited anymore. Just for that it is refreshing and worth viewing over and over. The struggle of a man who was unfairly crushed in his body and soul for so long... triumphs in the end. A man who remained true to his promise, without showing any agressivity toward his enemy... truly unheard of...You will love this film if you know about grace...
Movie Review: What would Jesus do? Summary: 5 Stars
I love this movie because there are so many spiritual elements that make you reflect internally. Even though Liam Neeson is a criminal, this shows how forgiveness is so important in our lives. It also shows how through forgiveness one can be empowered through JEsus Christ (although the film doesn't mention Jesus). Often Neeson has to make choices between being recaptured or freeing someone else. He chooses others betterment than his own. A must-see movie that will move you spiritually. And, outstanding acting by Liam Neeson.
Movie Review: Movie - Drama Summary: 5 Stars
If you're a fan of the music only then this is not the film for you. However the acting and the way the characters are portrayed are excellent. I loved this movie the first time I saw it and it hasn't lost its appeal. Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush are fantastic. Uma Thurman and Claire Danes are amazing. If you know the story already the movie flows beautifully and if it's your first time you'll love the way the story unfolds. I hope you feel the same way too if you decide to buy this movie. Thanks for reading my review.
