Movie Reviews of Leave Her to HeavenMovie Review: Leave her to Hell ! Summary: 5 Stars
"Leave Her To Heaven" is a very odd name for a movie with a gorgeous Gene Tierney as a psychotic pathological cold blooded killer.
How can someone so beautiful be so wicked and have so much evil inside them ?
Next to "Laura" this is Tierneys best movie by far.
The scene of her in the row boat is eery and very disturbing and the vibrant technicolor could not tone the feeling down.
Although this movie is considered a noir, I feel it would have been more effective in B/W, but that is just my opinion !!
Movie Review: 1940's Drama Summary: 5 Stars
The most wonderful thing about the golden age of Hollywood were that stars of that time were not interchangeable. None of the stars looked or reminded you of anyone else, they were all highly unique. Especially the beautiful and icy Gene Tierney, who gives an outstanding performance as the jealous and possessive bride of Cornel Wilde. Anyone who enjoys old movies will love this one and it doesn't have the usual "pat" ending. It will leave you wanting to see more of Ms. Tierney's films.
Movie Review: First Time Fatal Attraction Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is truly spectacular. Filmed in Arizona, the settings are stunning. Gene Tierny gives a "Laura" worthy performance as the obsessed Ellen. The way she moves on screen commands your attention and her possession of those she loves is absolute.
After seeing the movie, I became obsessed with finding the book that inspired it. Folks, its out of print but worth searching for. The movie and the book are worth passing on.
Movie Review: One of the Best Summary: 5 Stars
This beautiful and haunting movie deserves many repeat viewings to catch all of the subtlety. The scene where she scatters her father's ashes is spectacular. The cast is gorgeous--lots of eye candy no matter what your orientation. The overall color scheme revolves around aqua, and the cinematography is glorious. Costumes are beautiful, and the music is of its time. The sets are marvelous.
Movie Review: Gene Tierney in the Row Boat Scene: Worth the price alone Summary: 5 Stars
To see a perfectly coiffed Gene Tierny in a row boat, with her icy stare, watching her husbands brother drown is worth the price of the DVD alone. It's filled with gorgeous colors, beautiful people and high melodrama at it's best. I *highly* reccommend this movie.
