Movie Reviews of Lawn Dogs

Movie Review: Magical!
Summary: 5 Stars

I rented this movie (VHS) on a whim about a year ago. It tookme by surprise. The script was genius. The cinematography wasabsolutely brilliant. The acting was nothing short of magnificent. It is so rare to find a film that displays excellence and perfection in every single aspect... this is what I found with Lawn Dogs.

Lawn Dogs, for me, has become one of those special movies that is set apart from the others. It is that special book that you've read dozens of times, or that poem that somehow reaches into your heart. It reminds you about humanity, love, kindness, amusement, magic and fantasy... all the qualities that you had when you were a child.

() I was really glad to see that it was available on DVD. I can't wait to receive my copy and watch it in its originally intended widescreen format.

Movie Review: An experience, a journey, a friendship to remember
Summary: 5 Stars

The film is truely an experience to remember, I didn't keep any or very little expectations from this film and it turned out to be one of the very best films in Drama. The film is very rare and I consider myself lucky to have watch this film, it follows a unique story, an unusual friendship between a little girl and an adult man. The little girl played very smartly and beautifuly by Mischa Barton. Rockwell and Barton show a wonderfull strong chemistry on screen, simply remarkable performences delivered by both the co-stars. Its a very unusual film, yet a wonderfull experience. It's quite rare that films reach a level of perfection. 'Lawn Dogs' is certainly one of them. The emotions are potrayed beautifully and the film is simply beyond words. The dvd stands proudly on my shelf. A true gem.

Movie Review: Sam Rockwell, an amazing yet under-rated actor!
Summary: 5 Stars

Most everyone has seen the movie, "The Green Mile" and although they may not remember the actor who played the deranged, yet comical "Wild Bill", they certainly remember the character. Rockwell is one of the rare actors that can display range. In this movie, he plays a humble, blue-collar 'country-bumpkin' who may not be educated or have been graced with the opportunities and status of those he mows lawns for, but nonetheless, has a keen sense of reality and truth about him. He truly brings heart to the movie and Misca Barton doesn't do too bad of job herself. It's a movie about friendship, societal differences/conflict, as well as the misunderstanding and prejudice that occurs when the two join. Be prepared to be have your heart-wrenched, yet lifted. A great addition to any collection.

Movie Review: excellent film
Summary: 5 Stars

This film should be mandatory for all parents and even some children. The film reminds us as a society how hypocritical we have become. We have become so afraid of the stranger hurting our children that we are now the ones administering the pain. Parents impose their morality on their children when in fact they have none themselves. This film attempts to empower the female adolescent by making her experiences worthy and important. See for yourselves the hypocrisy. One kind of relationship, obviously destructive, is approved of because of class; while another is discouraged because of the same reason. Nobody, unless perverted themselves, can find fault with the friendship/relationship between the two lead actors. Wonderful film. Buy it. 10 toes up!
