Movie Review: not her best.....

I have a slightly different take than the above reviewers; like them, however, I am a little "pazzo" for Laura.
First, what I did NOT like about this concert: the songs are collectively the most "derivative" of her 3 DVD's, with very few songs that are from her last album "Io canto;" she seems to make abundant use of medley arrangements, which I do not care for; her first costume in the DVD is not at all feminine; the DVD's engineers seem to confuse what they CAN do with what they SHOULD do, vis "Look, I can bathe the whole image in blue and spin it around, weeeee!" Not good.
Now, what I DID like: if you are a Pausini fan, you will not be disappointed; she is, as usual, a completely natural, warm, and unpretentious performer, which compensates somewhat for the impersonal surround; finally, the already gorgious Laura in tight wet clothes in the midst of a driving rain, has to be one of the wonders of the world!

What a shame. Laura sings her heart out, she loves to sing, she loves her fans, she lives her dream, but it is a shame we barely get to see her on this DVD. The producer should learn to make concert DVD's! He jumps around camera's and angles and shots making you dizzy and a bit sick. Seems the producer was more interested in showing San Siro, the lighting, umbrellas, anything but Laura. The reason to buy a DVD of a concert is to SEE the performers. Laura is the ultimate performer - so warm and humble. But we do not get the shots of her singing - at most you get a few words at a time. I'd still say buy this if you are a Pausini fan. But if you want to SEE Laura, the band and her singers, buy the 2001/2002 Pausini World Tour. I was so looking forward to this DVD and seeing Laura perform since I was going to see the concert in person but my flights got messed up. I hope Laura makes them re-do a second edition so we can see her singing and not San Siro from a helicopter. Grazie Laura, Ti Vogliamo Bene!
