Movie Reviews of L.I.E. (Unrated)Movie Review: A sleeper wows this guy. Summary: 5 Stars
I thought this film would have a bit more depth in its plot.It touches the surface of pedophilia. Indeed this film deals with a lonely mature boy pursued by a man that likes boys. He gives the boy all kinds of outs and the boy doesn't take them. Maybe pursued is to strong a term here..but watch the film and tell me which term to implant here. The film is done with a subtle grace. The thing I didn't like about the film is that you are always waiting to see if he ... well anyway ...I loved it, you will too.
Movie Review: Realistic Summary: 5 Stars
Acting is wonderful, plot is wonderful, and this movie will make you feel for the characters.
The people in this film are not unrealistically good looking (With the exception of Billy Kay), these are average teens who face problems every day that no one realizes they even have.
This movie potrays a situation involving manipulative friends, pedophelia, and losing those said friends and family. Your life doesn't have to be dramatic or filled with problems to sympathize and enjoy the movie.
Movie Review: L.I.E. Summary: 5 Stars
A gritty, take-no-prisoners yarn, Cuesta's "L.I.E" offers no easy answers or resolutions to Howie's plight, and its willingness to paint life's roadblocks in shades of gray is precisely what makes it work. While certainly not for every taste, "L.I.E" is a startlingly original, credible glimpse into humanity's underbelly and the rough and tumble ways of the street. Veteran player Brian Cox is fabulous as usual, as is the young actor Paul Dano, who injects pathos and palpable emotion into his role.
Movie Review: As disturbing as it is real Summary: 5 Stars
.... i rented L.I.E. the movie was vary true. i work with boys from broken homes and some will look for love and guidence in many places just as Howie did. Child predators come in maby shapes ushley careing for the child which makes detecting them vary hard if they have been into boys for a long while. Big John is a piller of the community a friend of the principle and cops. Parents and Social workers should see this movie. its as true as it is disturbing. a vary well acted and vary real story.
Movie Review: One of the best I've seen... Summary: 5 Stars
While the subject matter may be contravercial the overall story is well told, directed and acted. This comeing of age story left little in the way of questions about what was going on and was at times fast paced. I enjoyed the way "Big John" treated his young friend/psuedo-adopted "son" after learning that the youngsters biological father was incarcerated and his mother was deceased. Over all it's a very good movie, but not recommended for those under 16.
