Movie Reviews of Kiss - Kissology, Vol. 3: 1992-2000 (Ltd. Edition 5 disc set)

Movie Review: Old or New Kiss?
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my 7 year old son. He is a huge Kiss fan (more like fanatic, I even took him to meet Paul Stanley in person). I was expecting the new Kiss band with newer Kiss songs and lame new Kiss videos. Alas, I was wrong. Most of the dvds have live concert footage with the original members. I suppose it's from the last comeback tour where all 4 original members toured together.

This is a good buy... you get great concert footage of Kiss's greatest songs with the original members. So if you didn't buy this because you thought I don't like the new Kiss songs, or I only like the original Kiss members...think again and buy it.

While you're here at Amazon, relive your youth and blame it on your kid. Pick up a few Kiss posters, rare albums, action figures, toy cars, and other novelties and you too can turn your child's room into a Kiss shrine, lol. Don't forget Kissology Vol. 1 & 2!

Movie Review: Too Much Repetition
Summary: 3 Stars

I found this DVD set too repetitious. Do we really need to see "Rock And Roll All Nite" 7 times? We get it. You want everyone to remember you by THAT song, not the number one singles "Beth" and "I Was Made For Lovin' you." I like the full Unplugged, that is cool. But by the time the 3rd disc rolled around I was getting tired of it. I honestly can not say that about KISSOLOGY Volumes 1 and 2.

Movie Review: What do Peter and Ace think?
Summary: 3 Stars

3.5 stars actually

As much as I'm glad to see all the stuff that I missed in vols 1,2,3 from when I first became a fan in 76(they came to Hawaii right before I stumbled across them and they never came back, did get to see them once on the farewell tour)

I am able to take it for what it's worth in terms of intactness and quality, it's basically a purge, but the whole: multiple bonus discs across 3 vols ticks me off. Has the Kiss Army/Kiss ATM joke been made yet...how could it not have. Seriously, to obtain them all legally would cost(even at an average price of $25) $225. Gene, why not just make each vol $75. I know that I don't have to buy them all, but that's what it comes down to. I can see Gene puzzling over how to 'love(and respect?)' the fans and still not give us *too* good a deal.

My only other gripe is the 'half of the story' aspect. Ace and Peter should release podcasts that give their opinions as they watch along.

Movie Review: Kissology 3 Fills in the Gaps for Kiss Fans
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a Kiss fan in the 1970's and missed some of the later years. It was really cool to go back and watch the Kissology 3 dvd and see what happened to Kiss since then. Now I feel up to speed on my favorite band ever. A must for Kiss Fans.

Movie Review: The least of 3.
Summary: 3 Stars

I loved volume 1 and I couldn't wait for vulume 2. They are both better than this final edition. Don't get me wrong, it's good, and I like seeing this part of the timeline but, it lacks the punch of the first two in the series. A must have to complete the collection but you don't get as much cool history and interviews. Still fun.
