Movie Review: FUNNY GIRL
Summary: 5 Stars
I have seen Kathy Griffin reporting from the red carpet on some E! programme once (could have been at the 2004 Oscars?)[No , it wasnt the VH1 Fashion Awards :-)]. I also saw her on the Celebrity Mole DVD I bought and liked her and her sense of humour on both occasions. Thus I took the plunge and ordered her standup show ALLEGEDLY, and boy, did I laugh!!! It's a wonderfully funny show, and feels more like a hilarious gossip fest than a stand-up show. Granted, she says "so anyway" too many times, but I guess that adds to the vibe of her style. I will watch this a couple of times and show it to a lot of people as this is laugh out loud funny. And I was genuinely disappointed when she said goodbye. I was ready for at least another 30 minutes!!Movie Review: My Personal Comedy Hero

I adore this woman! I had the pleasure of seeing her live at the Laugh Factory recently and I only hope that this DVD contains some of that material! Her opening "multimedia" piece on Julia Roberts and the Wild Horses of Mongolia had the entire audience shrieking in hysterics. The whole set, from Apple and Banjo (future roommates at Promises!) to the brilliant final half-hour devoted to Clay Aiken (what would Jesus do??) was fresh, current, and perfectly showcased her wonderful wit, pop culture savvy, and flawless timing and delivery. I can't wait to own this DVD! Love you Kathy!

Movie Review: Amazing!

Kathy Griffin is without doubt one of the best stand-up comedians of all time. She's hilarious! Her observations on life, politics and celebrity culture in particular are always dead on, witty and ultimately thought-provoking. She is unafraid to share her experiences no matter who she offends in the process and it is this honesty that makes her so funny. Allegedly is one of her many specials and as they are all excellent, I cannot choose a favourite. However, needless to say, if you love Kathy or comedy in general, you will not be disappointed! You'll be quoting her as soon as the show is over, if not during it! She is awesome!Movie Review: So funny you will not be able to turn it off

I can't understand why Kathy Griffin isn't a super star? This is performance is as funny as Eddie Murphy's original stand up routine in the red leather suit or Roseanne Barr's career making HBO special!
Ms. Griffin perfforms as if she is your high school friend giving you the dirt on all the people you know in common except they are HUGE stars with HUGE ego's and she cuts them down. I am sure some of this is exaggerated for comic effect, however I still want to see her episode of "The View" for myself. Get this, you won't regret it. I believe this is a DVD not seen on TV like her "D-List" special airing on Bravo.
Movie Review: Laughter from start to end....

I am a fan of comedienes such as: Kathleen Madigan, Sue Murphy, Wanda Sykes, Paula Poundstone, Judy Tenuta, Judy Gold... each at times will take an a celebrity and share a joke at their expense. However, Kathy Griffin takes no prisoners... if you want to see the National Enquirer and Star Magazine come to life..this DVD is a must!
The self professed "D List" star holds nothing back...I am already on the edge of my seat waiting for a follow-up. Thank goodness for Bravo, and her reality show!
Buy this DVD, and NO! I am neither related nor employed by Kathy (I should be so lucky!).
