Movie Review: Down right funny
Summary: 5 Stars
I think with Kathy Griffin, you need to have a slightly "different" sense of humor. Her joke-telling is a tad left of standard. Yet, they are funny. She has charisma enough to put you at ease so you feel like you and her are best friends. I think that's part of her charm and part of the reason she is so funny. Now, I don't fall into either of her main categories, I'm a straight male, (you really need to have listened to her comedy to truly appreciate the first part of this comment) but I find her down right hilarious. She pokes fun at the quirks of the "A-list" celebrities she talks about. Her whole bit on Paris Hilton is freaking hilarious. She's non-apologetic about her jokes and who she talks about. There aren't too many people she won't talk about for the laugh. And if you take her too seriously about it, that's your problem. The bonus features on this are good as well. This DVD reminds me of a celebrity rag filtered through, say, Sam Kinison. Her mouth isn't quite as bad as Kinison's, but if you aren't into "colorful" language, don't buy this. Now, I'm all for free speech, I don't think we should have to be censored because a few people don't like it, but I mention this so that those who don't like or are truly and honestly offended by such language don't buy this and complain later that "I didn't know she talked like this! This is unbearable!" I mean, it isn't like every other word is a curse word, but there is a smattering. So be warned. But, if you are looking at this DVD, you are probably pretty familiar with the Kathy. So sit back, relax, and laugh.Movie Review: Huge Jugs and a bucket of clits!

This is a great DVD to watch if you want to laugh your ass off. Kathy Griffin is one of the funniest people on the planet. Even when she picks on people I like. To all you nay-sayers, get over yourselves. I'm the number one Babs fan, and even I think Kathy is funny when she says stuff about her, which is clearly not true (see: "The D List"). But that's why it's called comedy! Hello! If I wanted real life, I'd read the newspaper or watch the news. (Actually, that's not 'real' either, but ya get it, right?). Comedy is not supposed to be "nice" and should not be taken oh so seriously. Nice comedy sucks. And if you don't agree, you can suck it! hahaha
I can't believe some of these so called celebs won't talk to Kathy at award shows. What a bunch of prune faces!! Especially Ms. Karate Kid herself - Hillary Swank. Oh, too good for Kathy now that you're an Academy Award winning "prize fighter," eh? Another classic example, the response from Donna Karan when Kathy was just goofing around with her. "I don't even know you." Donna, you're a great designer, but, get a sense of humor already. I loved Kathy's response: "Donna, you have huge jugs. You could totally be a manager at Hooters." hahaha
The bottom line: Kathy tells it the way it is, and hands them all their asses on a platter. And THAT is good TV.
I love you, Kathy Griffin. Yes, I do.
Movie Review: The Funniest Woman on the Planet Today!

Tired of all the pretentiousness of celebritism--a disease that strikes down the minds of the rich and famous in the public eye? Then settle in for a great night of comedy and take on ALLEGEDLY. Thank God for Kathy Griffin! She pokes holes...no...blows wide open the self-absorbed craziness of the Hollywood few while also remaining a fan of it. Kathy's diatribes are always funny and what's more, they are always on target. Who is Barbara Walters to take herself so seriously and why should we allow Donna Karan to act as if she's better than everyone else? People in the entertainment business really are desperate for attention--right,Britney and Kevin? Kathy's DVD is a laugh-a-minute riot that will leave you wanting more, which is why you need to RUN and see her when she's in your town. I just saw her at the DC IMPROV and she was amazing. Her commentary on what's wrong with celebrities never gets old and so if you're the kind of famous person (Cruise, Holmes, an obviously gay IDOLized reality show host, a PAYLESS DIVA from THE VIEW, or a cracky diva who's married to a washed out rap star who can't remember the names of his own children) who thinks they're above it all, have no fear, Kathy will be there to take you down! And fortunately, everyone will be laughing at the time! I can hardly wait to see her next DVD!!!Movie Review: Allegedly by Kathy Griffin.

In a world where very few female stand up comedians make their own paths, there are still those few who shine like bright light bulbs. Those rare exceptions include: the very famous Ellen DeGeneres, Kathleen Madigan, Tammy Pescatelli, and the star of this DVD, Kathy Griffin.
I honestly was worried I wouldn't like it when I first read on the box that basicly she was going to insult celeberties for about an hour and a half. But this was just so fun to watch. I mean not only did you get to hear how the celebs really act off camera, you get to hear it in a comical aspect that was delivered perfectly by the wonderful graces of Kathy. She covered a lot in her 1 hour and 30 minutes of viewing time: from her VH1 Fashion Awards red carpet nightmare, to Book Shields' crazy wedding, to her battle on the set of The View with Barbara Walters, all the way to her USO tour to entertain the troops.
This DVD is uncensored and therefor not meant as a holliday gift for all the little ones to hear unless you approve of your kids watching this. She hides nothing; she goes full on hardcore with any celeb, which makes for a fun watch and lots of laughs.
Movie Review: The Lady is A Tramp.....and I Love Her For It!

Potty mouth? Yeah. Hollywood trasher? Totally. Pop culture
enthusiast? For sure. And I love every minute of her routine.
This is a great disc not only for the stand up, but for the home
movies Kathy shares with us of her trip to the Middle East. I
had the great pleasure of seeing her live last year, and she
was fantastic. Listening to her on stage was like being among
friends sharing raw, juicy gossip. Kathy shoots straight from
the hip in terms of Hollywood and its insanity, which is why I
love her. Those people need to be taken down a few notches
and Kathy Griffin is the only one willing to expose their reality.
As for coming up with new material, why? If it ain't broke, don't
fix it. A lot of the people who have a problem with her humor
probably have a problem with strong-willed, opinionated women
to begin with. As far as I'm concerned, she can trash Hollywood
'til the cows come home. Stay on the D-list, Kathy! Those of us
who know the Hollywood Emperor is buck naked need you
there to keep making us laugh!
