Movie Reviews of Kathy Griffin - AllegedlyMovie Review: Bonfire of the Celebrities Summary: 5 Stars
Highly recommended to anyone who likes a good, politically incorrect laugh, ALLEGEDLY is one of the funniest comedy concert performances ever recorded. Starring Hollywood bad girl Griffin, this 90 minute DVD is like a slow motion explosion, where time is suspended as the viewer rubbernecks at the spectacle of an ambitious comedian, torching celebrities, from Barbara Walters and Gwyneth Paltrow to Larry King and Vogue magazine's Anna Wintour.
Periodically scolding herself with an "Oh Kathy that was inappropriate," when she gone way way way beyond acceptable conversation, Griffin in this 2004 DVD, is like a pyro with tourettes, who ignites the audience in nervous wet-your-pants laughter as she skewers Afgan warlords, reveals her love of wiggers and fear of Justin Timberlake who she says is now so far beyond black that he's now "nubian."
Perhaps the funniest and most disturbing bit in ALLEGEDLY is Griffin's tale of attending Brooke Shields wedding. While beyond hilarious, if any of what Griffin says is true, that has to have been one of the most outrageous weddings ever
Though they say this DVD is only 90 minutes long, it feels like it lasts for hours. And not because it is slow and boring. Far from it. It's hilarious and no one else on earth could ever pack so many jokes, stories and observations into a mere hour and a half. Plus ALLEGEDLY features a short, but fun home movie of Kathy's USO trip to Afganistan. At this point I cannot remember how I found it, but ALLEGEDLY also features an extra chapter about Jillian Barberi that is not listed in the main menu.

Summary of Kathy Griffin - AllegedlyBubbly, and yet sharply shrewd, comedian Kathy Griffin reflects on some of her personal experiences in Hollyweird. The stand-up comedian caught audiences' attention when she stole the show in Brooke Shields's TV sitcom SUDDENLY SUSAN. Here Griffin shares gossip on such celebrities as Gwyneth Paltrow, Renée Zellweger, and Sandra Bullock. Her stories revolve around odd, bizarre, or unpleasant encounters with superstars. For example, she reveals the name of the picky celebrity who refused to join her onstage at an awards show, and dishes about what really happened at Brooke Shields's wedding. Then there was the time Kathy found herself partying with Barbara Walters. This spitfire's take on celebrity life is uproarious and, without a doubt, courageous.
