Movie Review: When sweet revenge takes a turn for the hilarious Summary: 4 Stars
If you loved Mean Girls for all that it was, then you will love John Tucker Must Die. 3 girls from different cliques at school all discover that they all have the same boyfriend. Let the hair-pulling and cheap slaps begin! But Kate, the seemingly invisible new girl winds up caught in the midst of this brawl. She was, after all, the same server that waited on John Tucker with each of his girlfriends, witnessing first hand his player ways. When she tells them they shouldn't be fighting with each other, they should be confronting him, an unlikely friendship soon forms between the 4 girls. Their plot for revenge against John Tucker takes some interesting turns of course, and I don't want to ruin the scenes that ensue from all this, but when the girls realize their little plans keep backfiring, they hatch a new scheme...to make John Tucker fall for Kate, who is impervious to his womanzing ways, thanks to watching her mom's serial dating over the years. It's a sweet movie with lots of revenge and lots of laughs, and an ending that will make you glad you watched this gem. Definitely a keeper! Enjoy it!
Movie Review: very good popcorn chick flick movie Summary: 4 Stars
this is a satisfying teenager/ chickflick movie. It has a funny plot, alot of funny unexpected scenes an is above average when it comes to the huge amount of teen movies being made. I have never seen Jesse Metcalfe as a particularly good actor, but he plays his role as the popular, good looking, jerky, "player" in a good, convincing way. All four girls are enjoyable to watch. Looking aside from the fact that they all look like 25 years olds who could be models when they are actually playing high school kids, they play there parts well. Brittany Snows character Kate is very likable, and her nervous, real, genuine "nice girl" quality is endearing to all viewers. Sophia Bush and Arielle Kebbel have many funny moments and shines in the movie as well.
The movie is as previously mentioned above average in its genre, and I would absolutely recommend watching this instead of mean girls or bring it on.
The movie does not have the biggest message to give the audience, but serves the purpose well if you want a funny chickflick to watch with your girlfriends at a sleepover.
Movie Review: John Tucker Must Be Watched...eh, Could Be Watched Summary: 4 Stars
I've become somewhat tired of "chick flicks", just because they tend to follow more or less the same few story lines, but this one was not that bad. As the DVD cover may hint, John Tucker is a womanizer who has stolen the heart of a couple of girls in his high school. When they find out they're not John's one and only lover, they try to plot revenge with the help of a shy, new girl. They set up the new girl to make John Tucker falls in love with her, so that ultimately she hits him where it hurts.
The DVD features were pretty good. The movie quality was nice, and there were audio and subtitle options in English, Spanish, and French. There is also commentary from the director and a few actors, as well as deleted scenes and such.
The plot is not worthy of a major award or anything, but it's still better than most romantic comedies out there. Toward the ending the movie does start to get silly. Let's just say I don't really like the movies' take on what "love" is, but I guess you can't expect a movie to show it anyway.
