Movie Review: A must for fans of Sco's "Blue Matter" period.
Summary: 5 Stars
For those familiar with John's "Blue Matter" jazz/funk period, this DVD and Jazz Funk Guitar II are a must. I would argue with another reviewer here that there's actually good instructional value here. It's very hard to create a video lesson that's going to work for an individual, and Sco is best when he's in the driver's seat (not the case here as this is in more of an interview format). The chemistry between the members of this band is amazing, and you can learn a lot from just watching that. Every drummer and bassist should check out Gary Grainger and Dennis Chambers here too - perhaps the funkiest rhythm section to have ever existed!
