While there's nothing here as classic as his "Hot Pockets" segment on 'Beyond the Pale' (but the "Bowling" opening comes close) this is still an exceptional set. If you're not a fan yet, what are you waiting for? But if you didn't like his first DVD special, this will definitely not change your mind. I really enjoy that this special is all new jokes - no rehashed ones from the previous DVD - and Gafffigan may not expand what has made him a hilarious comedian, he's mastered his art of laziness, eating and the "audience member" voice.
Bonus features are much better than last time. "Pale Force" is a hilariously dumb cartoon of Gaffign with Conan O'Brien. Some of the interviews are actually interesting to watch (when Gaffigan is actually telling the truth), meanwhile the "Our Massive Planet" segment is amazingly dull and I have no idea why it's here (Jim talks about animals. Hilarious I guess just because it comes from left field) but, you don't have to watch these features.
I really, truly enjoy both stand up specials equal amounts. However I believe that "Beyond the Pale" has more classic dialogue, but this is still a phenomenal set that I can watch over and over again.

Movie Review: BACON BOY WONDER & JIM GAFFIGAN'S GENIUS!

Let me start off by saying, yes, I am a HUUUUGE Jim Gaffigan fan. The man can do NO wrong in mind, so of course I'm giving his new special/DVD/CD "King Baby" a 5 star review. That being said, I can honestly say that I have not laughed so hard at a live show in a loooooong time ( I saw most of "King Baby" when he came to my town for his "The Sexy Tour"). I was then lucky enough to see a sneak peek screening in Los Angeles and I was amazed at how well his stage show was turned into one of the funniest comedy specials I have ever seen. His first special, "Beyond the Pale", is probably my all time favorite, but "King Baby" is definitely giving it a run for it's money. It was in repeat viewings that I really fell in love with "Beyond the Pale" and I'm sure that after the 10th time watching it (which will definitely happen) I may have a new favorite!
I can't wait to watch "King Baby" premiere on Comedy Central this Sunday, but I'm looking even more forward to getting the DVD in the mail. It supposedly has over 30 minutes of stand-up not seen on the Comedy Central premiere and has a ton of exclusive bonus features. I am in comedy heaven!
Movie Review: More Classic Jim Gaffigan

For all those who like quality stand up comedy and like Jim Gaffigan's style, you are going to want to see this!
I just finished watching it on Comedy Central, and it was every bit as good as I had hoped. One thing about his style of comedy is it is very accessible and paced well, so it makes sense to a broad audience and you are never rushed to understand the jokes.
He goes on about escalators, bacon, bears, fast food, camping, bowling, restaurants, and more. He still uses his trademark "audience member perspective" lines, and with a good effect. Jim Gaffigan is a very likeable guy, and he seems to easily find that humorous sweet spot and run with it. I laughed out loud numerous times. I will be wanting to watch this again sometime in the future. If you didn't catch it on TV, it's worth a purchase. Even if you did see it on TV, you may find it to be worth adding to your collection so you can revisit it anytime. Really, all potent comedy, no filler. Enjoy!
Movie Review: ONE OF THE BEST STAND UP SPECIALS EVER!

I remember the first time I saw Jim Gaffigan's special "Beyond the Pale." It took me several days to stop laughing and I still to this day find myself in the grocery store, casually walking down the frozen foods aisle, pass the hot pockets shelf, and just start dying of laughter.
Finally, Jim has a new special to follow up on previous awesomeness. I was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of the special and it was totally hilarious. Not only will Jim Gaffigan fans love it, but anybody who enjoys laughing will love it. The genius of Jim's comedy is its accessibility. Grandparents and grade schoolers can all laugh at the ridiculousness of camping when you're a youngster.
This special has a little bit of everything for everybody. I can't recommend this special enough and I suggest everyone watch it live on Comedy Central Sunday, March 29th at 9 PM on Comedy Central. Then, buy the DVD to see all the extras that are guaranteed to be as great as the special.
Movie Review: I love BACON!!! and this DVD

Ah Jim, he's done it again! Can it get better than "Beyond the Pale"? I didn't think so, until I saw Jim's new special "King Baby" and I'm at a loss for words, partly because I'm too busy laughing. I highly recommend this DVD, especially if you know what funny is! Jim's ability to make topics like bacon and camping into some of the most hilarious things ever is amazing. I've already got my copy of the special, you should too... seriously... do it... like right now! Jim speaks the truth and is funny while doing it! You'll love this DVD just as I do!
