Movie Reviews of JesusMovie Review: A Joyful Gospel Summary: 5 Stars
This film shows a joyful and passionate Jesus, a fully human Jesus who is aware of his divinity. Rather than the stiff, somber, two-dimensional character we see too often in Jesus movies, Sisto portrays Jesus as a man who is lovable as well as loving. The departures from scripture (Mary Magdalene as a prostitute and the addition of the "Lidio" character) do not significantly detract from the movie's faithful presentation of the Gospel message. The exploration of Judas Iscariot's character as that of a disillusioned revolutionary is thought-provoking and emphasizes the contrast between a loving and a violent revolution.
Movie Review: The Millenium Summary: 5 Stars
Once you sit on the arm chair and start watching this movie. I think that it get you hooked .You could even be from another religion but still you would enjoy it .Jeremy could not intrept Jesus better than he did . I think he was the best one that ever did it like he did despite Powell in Zefferelli `s Jesus of Nazareth . So if you are thinking of getting this movie do , and after relax and see all that the son of God had to go through just to save us . I think that Rodger Young must have known what has been doing like all his other Biblical films .
Movie Review: Jesus - 2000 Review Summary: 5 Stars
One item that is striking with this DVD is the color quality. The green hillsides with a blue sky are incredible and go a long way bringing the viewer into the story line. If memory serves, the tv broadcast was available in HDTV. This would explain the clarity and color saturation. I would rate the video quality as the best I've seen. The audio is excellent as well. They have done a great job portraying Jesus as human. Other movies focus on Jesus the deity. This is a very creative story that seems realistic (yet does not stray from the intent of the Gospels) -- Enjoy!
Movie Review: Great version! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my favorite "Jesus" movie. The acting is great, the scenery is stunning and the story is entertaining (unlike some other similar movies that seem to drag on).
I first saw this version on TV when I was in Australia. They had an alternate ending that I thought was much better than the ending in this version. That was my only disappointment.
This version also has an interesting take on Satan. This helps link the film to modern times, even though it's dealing with events that are over 2000 years old.
Overall, I highly recommend this film.
Movie Review: I liked it ! It was actually very instructive. Summary: 5 Stars
Keep in mind, I am learning about the Bible, but I don't think this with bore experts. Normally, I hate mini-series. This was done nicely, nice actors(-resses), and they combined it all together seamlessly. It does not say "Day Three of the series" or crap like that. Even some extras, and the music video for us Leann Rimes fans.
Don't hold me to it. I can't check right now, but maybe no subtitles for the hearing impaired. I like to turn those on for things that I wan't the dialogue word-for-word.
