Movie Reviews of Jesus Christ Superstar

Movie Review: It's super!
Summary: 5 Stars

Well, I remember when I first saw Jesus Chirst Super Star on the stage was 1990 in Korea. Of course, the actors were Korean and the lyrics were in Korean. Then, I saw it again in 1994 in Seoul. Finally I had a chance to see it in London in 1996. It was so excellent, and I never forget the great musical.
Now, I have an great opportunity to keep the DVD of JSC for good.
I was so surprised that it is much different from 1996 version, and it has more modern than before.
But, still I am so impressed by Andrew, and the director of this film.
Whenever I see this DVD, I remember the scene in London, and I want to recommend it to my friends.

I prefer Steve Balsamo as Jesus, though. I don't think Glen Carter is better than him. Anyway, Glen was Simon in 1996.

Movie Review: Hey JC JC You're Alright By Me
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow! I completely loved this movie! I go to a Catholic School so I'm glad that the director of this movie made Jesus seem like a man for once. Judas almost had me in tears! I think that he is an amazing actor and had me on his side from Strange thing Mystyfing to after his death. Mary hasa beautiful voice and she captured everything that she felt in her facial expression. Cheers to her! Renee Castle (the actress who played mary)did an amazing performance in I dont know how to love him which was a beautiful song. However, I think that Glenn Carter was not right for the part of Jesus. Why did he keep trying to sing so high? The part wasnt right for his voice range (me being a singer myself at the new england conservatory). Overall this was an excellent movie...a must have!

Movie Review: THE #1 BROADWAY SHOW EVER MADE (YOU MUSY BUY THIS)
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a moving show about Christ's Life and the Music is THE BEST. Glenn Carter is a great Jesus and Jerome ? plays a good Judas (Although my sister likes Tony Vincent playing him better, I wonder why) Tony Vincent has a great voice and it is a shame he is only featured in Simon Zealotes, but he fits his part. The rest of the crew is fenominal and the music has a great setting to stage. The only questionable part is the song they added right when Jesus is getting thrown around (I think it's lets start over) This is a Video/DVD/CD you must own for your collection. This will put you in back in time in 1BC(?) Oh, and by the way, make sure you have good speakers because you will want to turn up the volume during Superstar and many other brillant songs.

Movie Review: The winner is: JCS 2000
Summary: 5 Stars

Waited until I had both versions of JCS to compare them. The winner is without any doubt the new version. The cast is so much better in this performance. Especially Glenn Carter is the big winner: he has such a great voice and his acting is outstanding. His "Gethsemane" is the best I ever heard - it's just fantastic!!! How can anybody even remember Ted Neeley! Glenn makes Jesus a lot more accessible by being more human and touching. He is not afraid to show fear and pain where it is needed (39 lashes and crucifixion). He really is the best Jesus Christ ever - he is born for this role! Jerome Pradon and Renee Castle are also outstanding - the whole cast makes this new version to a very special event!

Movie Review: WOW! WOW! WOW!
Summary: 5 Stars

I cam into Jesus Christ Superstar a cynic. I saw clips of the show on TV and thought to myself, "Oh my! What screeching! I wouldn't watch this show for fear of brain hemmorhaging!" Oh my! How wrong I was! My boyfriend bought the DVD and I sulked on the couch. He inserted the disk and from the first chords I was hooked! Never have I been so mesmorized by a movie! The set is faboo! I'm thinking about writing "liberte'" on my bedroom wall now!... kidding. The acting is also quite delightful. Jerome Pradon's Judas was by far my favorite character! What dimension! Lordy Lordy! Anyway, get this DVD! You will be far from disappointed!
